What if the Bahro weren't freed, but rather somehow reimprisoned? When people or creatures are in danger or trapped, there's a fight or flight mentality they get. What if the Bahro, as they were being imprisoned, felt that need to get away, to be in a safe place, and, unable to do so themselves, accidentally channeled that energy into linking us all to a "safe place" -- Relto? |

Hey guys, I'm in New Mexico.
Nobody else is around. Not right now anyway.
Yesterday after I got back to Relto, I had this weird feeling, and now that I've slept on it I think I know why. It explains why my books have all gone missing too... and why all the "additions" to Relto I had found were gone. This isn't my Relto. Or... hmm. I've linked back a few times, maybe this is still mine... There's a new pole there, it links to the Cleft. This is interesting, lemme see what I can dig up. I wonder if I'm the only person who's had this happen to them. _________________ KI: 34353 |

Cyc: Tread carefully... things sound mighty different than they were. I'm not going to tell you not to explore (like you'd listen to me anyway, ), just be careful. I don't want you going 'Phil' on us
My Relto Book stopped working. The linking panel is dim. I'm on a flight to NM tonight to see if I can find a new one... somewhere.
Take a look around and let us know about any other odd / different / new things you come across.
With luck, I'll see you this evening, brother. Take care _________________ KI 182798

I'm all packed up and ready to bring my things down into the Cavern. Unfortunately, surface responsibilities preclude me from linking until the evening.
Cycreim, be careful. Much may have changed. Keep a light on for us and let us know if there's anything specific we should avoid. (Like we'll listen.)
See you all down there soon. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

I'm going to echo Cuz on this one Cyc, be careful and check in when you can. I'm not going all "safety first" on you, these are just odd times is all.
Are you able to get to the city?
I'm still the best part of a day away, but I'll be sure to look you up when I get in. |

Ugh, okay...
Had to go back and touch all of the cloths in the Cleft again. Got into the tree and... there's no Relto book there, just this page. As soon as I picked it up, I heard the Bahro screech again. Long story short, feel a bit disoriented.
The four pillar bases are back again in my Relto, so it feels a bit more familiar. Weird new page in the desert too.
I created a 'hood, but it's not up to spec... gonna try getting reassigned. It's barren but it has wireless, so here's you're update.
When I say it's barren, I mean it's REALLY barren. I'm not sure when this was last used. There's barricades in front of the community room, no 'heek table, water in the fountain is turned off... no imagers. No telescope.
I'll go check the city. I'll leave my laptop here in the 'hood. It's private so I don't think anyone will steal it.
Back in a bit. _________________ KI: 34353 |

Thanks for keeping us updated Cyc.
If the course of the journey has been changed and there are new pages it means Yeesha is active again, right?
Better luck on your next 'hood. |

I'm full of a cold so bought quite a lot of medical supplies with me.
I'm getting quite nostalgic at the moment as it was only three or four years ago (time seems so unimportant these days) when I was last in the cavern over the Christmas period and can't forget the Christmas tree in Sharper's office. That skinny little tree with a few sparse baubles made me chuckle, but it's those kind of memories I find myself sinking into and enjoying.

Speaking of nostalgia, in my last final of the semester, I heard some music coming from an adjacent room. Interestingly enough, it was "Save Tonight." You may remember that was the music that went with a particularly famous video about the closing of the Cavern in February 2004. Every time I heard the song afterward, I got emotional. However, this time, I just found it funny and not as sad anymore, because now it's all starting up again! |

City's barricaded up again. No surprise there. The DRC must be freaking out!

I'm seeing some of the same things. My Relto doors were closed. The pillars, replaced with one. I checked it out and found that it took me to the Cleft, and so I went there, once more....
Jeff Zandi did not recognize me. Well, I haven't seen him for three years either, and he did invite many explorers before, so I suppose that was no surprise.
Since then, I've picked up my KI (added to my signature), and I've received a message from Victor Laxman. It says:
Quote: | Dear Visitors and Explorers:
If you are just arriving for the first time, welcome to the Cavern!
If you are returning to the Cavern, we apologize for the
inconvenience tha requied you to obtain a new KI. It seems that all
of the KIs that were in use before that bizarre scream occurred have
been permanently disabled. Fortunately, it seems that the lattice was
not damaged.
There have also been many reports of subtle changes that apparently
occurred at the same time as that scream, so, as a precaution, we
have closed down the most unstable portions of the city to verify that
those areas have not been adversely affected. We will be re-opening
portions of the city as soon as we can.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Victor Laxman |
I'm not sure I agree with Laxman's assessment of no damage to the lattice. My new KI is working a bit brokenly. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Sonuds like the sort of thing the DRC would do - "uh oh, somebody stubbed their toe on a rock, lets put all the barricades back up!"
Just kidding of course. Until we have more information on what exactly happened, I plan to tread lightly...
Bizarre that Laxman mentioned there were changes to the City that the DRC didn't know about... That has me raising a questioning eyebrow.
I guess as long as we still have our Relto books we're still ok, but it's no reason to be reckless either! _________________

Honestly, with the surprise we received yesterday, I am amazed that the DRC is letting anyone into Ae'gura at all, just to minimize chances of unpleasantness. I don't disagree with the barriers for now...
I just hope we can find an explanation for what happened yesterday, and soon. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.
