Ugh tell me about it. I can't wait 'till you guys arrive. Do you all still have your KIs? I've lost all your numbers since the DRC started messing with the lattice again.

It's probably good that you lost all our numbers... since it seems that every time I look at my KI there's a NEW number registered to it. If the same thing has been happeneing to everyone, old lists aren't worth a hill of beans.

Lattice-schmattice... I'm goig back in, KI or no KI.

I have a feeling the crowd may be larger this go around. Maybe we should all wear something 'disticntive' so we can find each other amongst the throngs of the Called?

Brightly colored hat? Dye our hair Purple?

Or maybe we could all wear a pullover fleece jacket with our logo on the back?

>whrrrrr...< Oops, excuse me while I open this can of worms. Twisted Evil

I to have felt something stirring deep inside. It's hard to beleive the DRC is opening the Cavern again. After what happened with Phil Henderson a 3 years ago and the previous lack of funding, I really did not expect this. I've packed my supplies and I'm ready to go as soon as I get the word.

But like many of you I fear there is something wicked in the air and it is moving toward the Cavern. I've been having very disturbing dreams regarding Yeesha and the Cavern. An image of Yeesha has spoken to me many times in these dreams and she keeps warning me of "The Destruction". I fear that dark times maybe in store for us in the ancient Uru.

Wow. Everyone else feels it too?

This is going to be a challenge for me too, even living in the US. Seems like the call grows stronger when I'm busiest! Isn't that funny?

Last time, I was taking night school classes. This time, I spend 2 hours in the car commuting each day.

But yes, I think I can find some time, here or there, to return...

Maybe in a week or so? I'll have to get certain things out of the way, first.

What is this Ki-Hub of Laxman's that was mentioned? I've not heard of this before.

Who's to say Laxman is done "messing with the lattice"? He's either fixated or we should have been much more worried three years ago.

mmm... fixating on the Lattice...

My place of employment has the week between Christmas and New Years off, I'm gonna try and make it down during that time! I hope to see you all soon, It's been a long time for some and never for others!

CJ - I like the jackets idea, even if our logo isn't on it yet. And of course I'll have the Red Toque of Happiness(tm) on! Look for it bobbing admidst the throng...

It most certainly does feel like something is happening in the cavern again. New explorers are starting to show up asking for guidance, veteran explorers are back again reaffirming their friendships and preparing for new adventures. Even though it's been 3 years since the last restoration, I feel like I'm going back home again. Seeing familiar faces like Marten, the Professor, CuzinJohn, Mystlander, Brian, and others certainly makes me feel like the "Calling" has never left. I'm in the cavern most days bringing in supplies and will be there next week as I take a vacation from my surface job. See you there!

All this talk is getting me even more excited about going back to a Cavern under restoration!

When the Cavern closed a couple years ago, it was so hard to just sit around while one of the greatest discoveries in the history of mankind was underneath our feet and no one was doing anything with it.

When we came back to the Cavern in small groups, it helped a little, but not that much. We were pretty much just sitting around like we were beforehand...just underground. No big plans, no goals, no focus. The Cavern was little more than a glorified meeting place. Sure, various groups tried to do some research, but there weren't enough resources, and so many different groups trying to figure things out caused only confusion.

But now, with the Restoration returning, I am getting excited. Thousands of years of history, language, and culture wait to be unearthed. All the Linking Books are waiting to have someone come up to them and blow the dust off their covers and start to piece together the clues and find out what was D'ni. This is a great discovery, and we have a great opportunity to explore and learn from it. With a centralized restoration group, even though we don't always agree with them, we will be able to have a focused effort and sufficient resources to explore D'ni.

Just writing about it is making me excited! ^_^

To celebrate, a bad pun:

Perhaps the insurance... has been underwritten.

Well things are looking a little better today. I've got some ideas althuogh I may have to come back home for a few weeks in January to make more permanent arrangements but I might be able to join you guys and gals after all.

Any requests for supplies? I'm planning to get a whole bunch of tinned goods state-side and I'm brining my camping stove.

Could someone pick up some kippered herring? Those things are really good, and it's Christmas tradition in my family to get them in our stockings.

Of course, you have to eat them in a really open area like Gahreesen, or they'll smell up the place. Razz

Looks like the Liaisons are holding a Town Hall meeting next Tuesday. How many of you are going to be there?

I'll be there, helping to keep the inevitable riot of people asking questions from getting too close. By the way, just a heads-up; since so many people are wanting to ask questions of the DRC, we're hoping to limit it to one on-topic question per person until everyone has had a chance. So, just to let you know that you should decide what questions are most important to you. Smile

Also...even if you're not planning on being in the meeting (maybe you don't want the crazy crowd and you'll read the chatlog anyway), you might want to read this note by RAWA on the DRC forums...

Quote:
<not-so-subtle hint>
Hey, even if you're not particularly interested in the Town Hall meeting on 12/19, everyone who has access to D'mala and is able to be in the Cavern during that hour (11am-12pm Cavern time) will probably not regret just being anywhere in the Cavern at that time.
</not-so-subtle hint>

So, if you can be there, be there. Wink
