Um....different diet, I think. I could be wrong but my book has a lot of menus and recipes but nowhere does it talk about pre-packaged food stuffs. I wouldn't eat it if they did. Maybe these South Beach meals are a new supplement to the plan but they are in no way part of the mainstream diet.

I keep wanting to start an exercise regimen, but it's so much easier to play video games. I should invest in one of the Dance Dance Revolution style games and get some activity going while I play. Razz

You know those cyclers who ride in front of a giant screen? That could be entertaining. Or even a treadmill while walking through Uru on a giant screen. Hey! That would be awesome!

Yeah, VR Uru! Though I think I'd make myself motion-sick trying to fight the controls and move naturally...

No, no, no, silly. You would just walk like normal... or run. The walkthrough in Uru would be a movie.

8/7 = 15

8/8 = 12

8/9 = 11.5

8/10 = 10.5

8/11 = 9.5

Yay! Less than 10 pounds to go. I was a little worried due to some ill-advised popcorn munching. But all is well......unless it catches up with me today. Confused

Doh! It's a lot earlier than I'm used to getting up at the moment. I haven't turned on my brain yet.

Well, it appears that the ill-advised popcorn has had a negative affect. lol. Slight gain but still in a good place. I know this is supposed to happen so I'm not going to sweat it right now. Tomorrow's an important weigh-in as it is the end of Week One. Hopefully it will reflect a 5 pound loss. We'll see.

Ah, gotta treat yourself sometime. Smile (And who can resist popcorn?!)

I say as long as it's two pounds, even if it's not five, you should feel accomplished. Cool

4 lbs is great for a first week! Any more than that and I'd be worried. After the first week or two, though, you might find that it averages around 2.

Also the last 10lbs are the hardest. (I'm working on those myself)

I have a different approach to what I call "health maintenance" (I hate the term "dieting"), though. I generally just try to eat a bit less than I normally would (of whatever I normally would) and exercise at least 3 times a week. I had a bunch of trouble with this in Alaska, and ended up gaining like 20lbs... but I'm getting back to where I was. Slowly, yes, but at least I hope I can maintain it better when I get there.

I guess what I'm saying is it's not just the goal, it's the long term that you have to ease into... so as you get closer, think about how you're going to act when you reach your goal and try to balance it all out.

Chocolate cake?

You're right, Brian, we're talking about a lifestyle change here and that's a big pill to swallow. I'm just going to press on and try to tweak said lifestyle a little bit at a time.
