I just cracked open a CD that was burned with some of my old data a few years back to make room on my parents' computer. Lo and behold, I found a folder entitled "D'ni" chock full of prologue memories including but not limited to:

· A video of an "Eder Gira sunset" off of my parents' back porch
· My first "real" photos of close cavern friends
· Photos during speeches given in the UO neighborhood
· Hillarious Photoshopped pics of me with Sharper
· Heek table dancing
· Final images from the last evening in Prologue
· Photos of group storytime in Kadish and Eder Gira
· My first chats with Brian and Dusante, assimilating me into the Great Tree philosophy and the mystery that shrouded (shrouds?) it

It's been a delight to revisit these files and remind myself of the excitement that Prologue brought to me. Here are two photos that were doctored by Aitrus81 from UO that really made shivers run down my spine the first time I saw them. I'm so relieved I found them again.

(Remember that grueling wait to finally get out of Sharper's office in the city and go exploring around town?)

I have a lot more that I'd like to share, but in the meantime, do you have any personal artifacts from Prologue (November 2003 - February 2004) that you'd like to share? Anything to help us reminisce about the past and excite us about the future?

Aw, those are great! I'm looking severely mangled in the tree, though. Very Happy

I still have all those christmas pictures. I should post some.

Didn't even realize I had this on my hard drive until I did a search. Ah, the memories. Smile

Quote:
I would like to begin by expressing my sincerest respect for all the work the DRC and the restoration engineers have done over the last few months and years. It takes many brilliant minds and capable hands to investigate such a civilization; these capable men and women have begun to unravel the mysteries behind a city that once spanned the universe.

I am an official representative of the Great Tree group. As a significantly large collection of concerned individuals, we count among our members a broad cross section of the community which has formed among the explorers. Despite this diversity of opinion, we all have at least one thing in common, the same thing which we have in common with the DRC: a desire for the continuation of the restoration of D’ni. Regrettably, there are a number of growing concerns which may, if left unchecked, conflict strongly with the fulfillment of this goal.

While it is impossible for any governing body to completely guarantee the safety of its constituents, particularly in a situation like the one in which we now find ourselves, the DRC has accounted for the security of the explorers more than sufficiently. Unfortunately, the most effective and common method thus far has been the use of barriers and other objects to limit the explorer’s access; this has led many explorers to the erroneous conclusion that the DRC may have concerns other than the safety and security of the explorers and D’ni.

In addition, recent events in the cavern- Sharper’s inappropriate behavior, Phil’s disappearance, the apparent presence of the Bahro, and Watson’s unscheduled surface visit, to name a few- have thrown in to stark relief the fragility of the situation in D’ni. The project has, almost from the beginning, proven to be far more complex than a simple restoration (if only by degree of bad luck), and we of the Great Tree group feel that an extraordinary show of solidarity between all the explorers, no matter their opinions, and all persons associated with the D’ni Restoration Council, errant or otherwise, is absolutely necessary to the continued efforts of the restoration, and perhaps to the continued wellbeing of the explorers as a whole.

With this in mind, the Great Tree would like to propose an open discussion involving both the DRC and representatives from the major schools of thought among explorers. We feel that many of the growing concerns by those in different camps are best addressed in a calm, straightforward manner; if the DRC considers these and our proposals for how they might be addressed, it will show the explorers that their concerns are being heard, and give them confidence that the restoration will continue despite recent hardships. This conference would, hopefully, include explorers representative of the philosophies espoused by both the Safety First neighborhood and our own, as well as those from differently (or indifferently) opinionated organizations or neighborhoods that may want to voice concerns. We also feel, however, that the importance of the situation requires that numbers be limited to these major groups; if the DRC is forced to listen to an entire crowd, the impact of any message will be lost.

We thank you for considering this proposal, and anxiously await your reply.

Wow. Can anyone say Town Hall? Well, better late than never. Thanks for digging up this gem, Jon.

Someone invoked a Liaison? Are the proper sacrifices prepared?

I'm looking around in my old files again and found this...

From left to right, it's Brian, Dusante, myself, and Kev hanging out in the Gallery on the final eve of Prologue. *sniffle* You can also see some familiar names along the left side on my buddy list, too. Smile
