Sorry for the late announcement! Some technical difficulties have come up in getting files hosted on the Great Tree website. We expect these difficulties will be resolved within a few days.

The Great Tree now proudly presents:

Download in Windows Media format (Requires Windows Media Player 8 or later)
Download in QuickTime format (Requires Quicktime 7)

NOTE:

In the credits, astute observers will notice thanks given to language translators. The French and German versions of Episode Zero will be made available as soon as we have ironed out the aforementioned technical issues.

Brian: Don't worry about it. There was some confusion earlier this evening, and I was supposed to talk to Professor Askew ... only I didn't know I was supposed to, or I forgot, so we missed each other. This whole thing didn't go according to plan... or we didn't plan... or something. Laughing

I had to jump through some technical hoops to produce these two copies (Cycreim can give you the details); they are temporary, just to meet our planned announcement date.

Within a day or two, I think Professor and I will iron out the problems, and we'll post slightly higher quality versions, along with international versions.

If Professor Askew can FTP the updated versions into place, we'll be good. Beyond that, you don't _have_ to give anyone else access (although I admit it could come in handy). I can post videos through my website and give the URL to you so that you can put it on your website.

Ok, just PM me with what to do... I'm experimenting with putting links to them at the top of the page. I can't think of a good title for them though (Documentaries? Videos? GT Productions?)

ok, it's up there for now. I'll try to work on setting up FTP access to that directory for you guys so you can update it. one day I'll get my laptop back so I can redesign the main site. I feel like someone cut off both of my arms...

I have to go to class soon, but I'd like the accouncement for Episode 0 posted somewhere other than in the OOC section of the DRC's forums.

This is a venture that may have some political impact on the Cavern. We aught to show people that we take our message seriously enough to tell it in a place of consequence, if you catch my drift.

It's interesting that you bring this up, Cycreim...I was just talking to Marten about posting the debut announcements separate from the production announcements. I'm sure there are people who would like to see the films but don't bother reading the forum posts about the production.

I have to say I agree with you here about the placement. I believe these films are about Uru Live. Granted, a previous incarnation of Live but Live nonetheless. They certainly aren't about UU and they aren't random fan art using Uru as a platform. This is an insight into Uru Live's potential.

So, when Marten finishes with the upgraded versions tonight, I'll take it upon myself to create brand spanking new announcements on the various forums. And don't worry...I won't oversell it. Wink

Marten - Ep Zero is so kick butt awesome I almost fell out of my chair here at work! Nice nice work, you and Prof and everyone else who worked on it. I'm totally stoked to see the rest of it.

Sorry to drop out of filming on Sunday, my internet connection at home is having issues and can't decide whether it wants to be connected or disconnected. grr... Evil or Very Mad

edit - I agree with Cyc, I would put this right up in the front of everything. I'll copy over Marten's announcement to the Explorer's Guild, and look for Prof's announcements later in the week! I'm sure they'll be nice and... err... not subtle. Wink

As last night's release was performed under duress (it was such a HACK JOB, trust me), I only felt like posting the announcements to the original filming threads. When it's done "right" (when I get the higher quality video from Professor Askew), it'll be flood-time. Twisted Evil
