Just wanted to let everyone know that last night I discovered that our Hood was set to Private. And I believe, after speaking with Annacat a few days back, that it may have been set to Private for most of the week. This is not good.
Please, when you're in the Nexus, don't touch that upper right portion of the Nexus screen. We always were and always will be a Public Hood. I'm sure it was done accidentally so let's be careful in there.
I thank you in advance for your cooperation. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Thanks, Professor Askew!
I look forward to returning to harass and torment... erm... I mean... visit you again.

I'm reminded of the St Patrick's Day parade.
People were waiting in the Nexus trying to get into the Reception Neighborhood, and they could not remember how to force the Nexus to refresh the 'Hood and City lists.
(The answer, for the uninitiated, is to toggle the public/private status of your own neighborhood. If using this technique, remember this principle: "Put things back the way you found them!") _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Thanks, Marten. I forgot all about that little trick. Now that you've reminded me...this used to happen a LOT during Prologue. It was very frustrating. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

I've found the hood set to private numerous times. I assumed it was some kind of bug. _________________ Michael D. Martin (AKA: Masonheart)

I didn't know about that either, hunh, learn sumthin new every day... I don't think I'll bother playing with it though, sounds like it causes too much trouble!
Can any one of us really set the hood to private? That's scary...

Yep, anyone can. I think DRC 25 (or DRC 26? I don't remember...) gets switched about twice an hour. I always set it back to public when I notice it.
Of course, I didn't realize what would happen when it was private (I figured if it was, it just wouldn't show up in the list,) so when I tried to visit the Great Tree and the Nexus closed up on me a couple of times, I thought you guys had gotten mad at me and banned me from your neighbourhood for some reason. Professor Askew was kind enough to set me straight.
