I think I like the black box.....in my house! I don't think it's a particularly great selling tool what with the generally gray carpets and gray walls of many game shops. It might just blend into the background. But, we'll see. I'm hoping for good sales. I think the next round of game mags will be a good indicator (maybe the round after that). I hope my next PC Gamer has the demo on the disk. And I hope Game Developer magazine does a Post Mortem on it with Rand. In any case, if we're going to hear any noise about MV it should start happening soon.

Rolling Eyes Wow....did I go off topic? Hmp. Well......

There. Back on topic. Wink

Professor you've really outdone yourself. That is the first time I have ever seen anyone quote themself within the same post it was written. Laughing

The pre-order box isn't tragic. It can grow on ya. I'm just hoping this will be the End of Boxes as well.

I only want it for its purdy box. Why does the US keep getting shafted on Myst box designs? Question

You know, some things in the world just balance out. The UK gets the nicer boxes for Myst products... and the US gets the nicer book covers for Harry Potter. Very Happy

Speaking of which, there's just something odd about the latest Harry Potter dvd cover...

I know its a different director and all (hence the street clothes), but its just so different looking than the first two covers.

"No, no! Is too sexy!"

Is that what the marketing people were hoping would be people's responses to that cover? That's pretty absurd... lol

Daed mentioned street clothes...

Quote:
Vernon says in book 4, "they'd better dress properly..." and Rowling says how Harry had only seen the weasley children in muggle clothes.

2 wizards arguing in the World Cup over weather the nightgown one is wearing is inconspicuous. ("Muggle women wear them, Archie. the men wear trowsers, like these")

At the same event, one of the people keeping track of portkeys is wearing a poncho and a KILT. If wizards routinely dressed like Muggles, they wouldn't look so ridiculous when they tried to blend in.

Harry would have stepped on Ron's foot in St. Mungo's in book 5, to get him to not question Neville about why a Longbottom is in the long-term resident's ward, "but it was much tougher in Jeans than wizard robes".

In "Snape's worst memory", when James flips Snape, his robes fall off to reveal his underwear. This does not line up with the movie's look at all.

Ron needs new dress robes every other year because you can see his sneakers poking out from under the robes. Why would this be a problem with those simple oversize coats the movie-makers think are robes?

Snape, in book 6, takes 20 points from Gryffindor for Harry's Muggle attire.

this has been annoying me since November 2001.

Anyway, could we have an exact release date for MYST V? September's only 11 days away...

I pre-ordered and Ubi's ship date is 9/20 (which is usually the same as the in-store date). And I believe GameStop has made the release for 9/20. It was announced yesterday (on Grey Dragon's blog) that Myst V has gone gold which means they will meet the projected release date.

That is all.
