Just needed to jump in and say a big THANK YOU to the gang for giving us REAL puzzles to deal with.

I had forgotten what it was like to slap my head in a moment of "Ah-HA!!"

Much MUCH better then the cavern-wide egg hunt that was the last X-Pack.

No doubt about it.....it's a brain-buster. Ahnonay? Fugedaboutit!! Ouch!! Er'cana not so bad....not so abstract. Not finished with it yet, though. Hehe. But so far, I'm REALLY enjoying the Path of the Shell.

Must continue. But slowly......don't want it to end.

I think I'm going to file a lawsuit against Cyan for my Carpel Tunnel syndrome I developed from bending my linking hand too much in TPOTS so far Smile

Not to mention that queasy, linking feeling I seem to suffer from all the time now. LOL. I talk to people very quickly for fear that I might just link away in the middle of our conversation!!

Indeed.

I must say, I think I'm a tad stumped on this one. Can't quite seem to find what i need to get to the end of this... anyone care to give me a bump? Since this is the spoiler thread, I suppose it's OK to share what I know...

MINOR SPOILERS FOLLOW!!!

1) Time travel ain't real...
2) Shell cloths don't work quite the same as Journey cloths...
3) I've been 'behind the scenes' for all three versions...

What am I missing?!? Please, only the most gentle of nudges, I may be out of ideas... but I still have my pride. Laughing

Thanks gang.

I'm not sure I could be of any help in any subtle way........

I will say, it's all about the Linking........

And Ahnonay isn't truly done without completing Er'cana.

I don't know if that made any sense.......but I wanted to be vague. I had needed some definite hints for this Age.

Thank you, my good Professor... your hints were abundant in their 'vague-ness'.

However, looking at my notes and sketches... I think I've hit on the thing I'm missing, and I see that I may have been mistaken when I said I've been to ALL THREE versions of Ahnonay... I must thank my Mrs. for her objective observation... the similarities of MY sketch of the way I thought things were in Ahnony were close, but I can't beleive I missed the symbolism of the age itself!

Now if I can just get everything to line up right...

Again... I have missed the head-smacking "AH HA!!" moments of Myst Puzzles. This age and it's inherent puzzle is by far the most inspired I've seen in a long time.

Shocked Idea Shocked

I say Again...

Shocked Idea Shocked

My mind is totally blown away! This is by far the most "lateral-thinking" age I've had the pleasure to experience... and the fun is not yet over!

I see that the ends of both ages are somehow linked... now to find out exactly HOW they are linked and hopefully to complete the 'squares and lines' puzzle...

MAN! I LOVE THIS CRAZY GAME!

Ahnonay is an amazing Age, the puzzles involved, the subtle music, all just created a brilliant age. I wonder if you've been to the other part of the Age with the statue? Wen I saw it my jaw just dropped, a wow moment where I just lingered in the place for ages looking at it all.

Indeed, I HAVE been there... and my jaw must have joined yours on the floor... awesome, AWESOME stuff right there!

I loved the running around and making my way to where the tower would have been... it was partially constructed an such... and.. WOW!!

That Kadish... what a strange and twisted man.

I'm curious, all my fellow players... what has been your most memorable "AH HA!" moment throughout the whole of the URU experience?

Mine was in Ahnonay... I had a theory about moving all the crabs (quabs?) into one place, so I painstakenly herded them all down to where the link-out book was. When it didn't do anything for me after HOURS of meticulous herding, I went running willy-nilly into the flock of them, screaming in my mind. When most of them scurried away from me and leapt into the water, it hit me.... "AH HA!!"

Others? c'mon... you can tell us...

My ah-ha! moment was when I finished overlaying the maps. I had started overlaying them just for the heck of it without any reason to think that my efforts might reveal something. When I saw the final product and found myself in the Myst fireplace, ah-ha! That moment felt good. Really good.

my "a-ha" moment will be when I find out how to get to the statue.

Believe it or not, I didn't have any big "ah -ha" moments.....just lots of little ones. I can't tell you why, but I found Uru more difficult than the other Myst games. I think I'm getting lazy. Uru proved to me once and for all, it was NEVER the puzzles that attracted me to the Myst games. I thought it was, but no. It's the being there...the exploring...the story. Which explains my LACK of fascination with other adventure games......plenty of puzzle...but not enough plot. Sometimes pretty to look at but just a big yawn.
