Sorry for posting this n00by question ... I'm a big fan of the Myst game series, back to when the first game was released. I bought and played them all - Myst, Riven, Exile and Uru. Now I read the next game will be titled "Myste IV", but shouldn't it be "Myst V"? They are all in the same series, or what did I miss?

Confused

Hi Mr Sweden

Welcome to the Great Tree Forum.

Myst, Riven and Exile take place in the distant past around the 1800's is the speculation and Myst IV Revelation will follow that same path. Uru: Ages Beyond Myst takes place in present day times and has to be looked at as a kind of seperate extension of the Myst Universe in that it reveals more of the D'ni history and civilisation that you haven't seen in the previous ones and of course get to see the D'ni city Ae'gura. Hope that makes sense.

There seems to have been problems with explaining this to the media, here in Europe Uru is still referred to as Myst IV, so it will be interesting to see what the games press make of Myst IV Revelation Smile
