Thanks for the news, Farlesis. Tim Larkin deserves the recognition. It's a great effort. I never thought of buying a game soundtrack before Uru.

Hmm, I still need to get that.

Wonder if it's too late to request an autographed copy...

I don't think it's too late to ask for a autographed copy, just email Eloise at Cyan and ask her if Tim will sign it for you when you order the soundtrack : Eloise@cyan.com I think is the right email address.

This would be a good opportunity to point out the best way to purchase the Uru Soundtrack (as I just did).

If you go to http://www.cyan.com/urumusic/ you'll find a link to the CyanWorlds store on Amazon.com. CyanWorlds' items do not otherwise show up on Amazon through their search engine, so if you go to www.amazon.com and search for Uru Soundtrack, you won't find it that way.

At the Cyan Worlds store, the soundtrack is $14.98 with $0.01 shipping (free shipping). That is definitely the way to go.

On the other hand, if you enjoy seeing your wallet raped, Ubi.com also has the soundtrack for sale; but again, if you just go to their store and type in "Uru soundtrack", you'll get no hits. You can get there from here, however: http://mystworlds.ubi.com/US/News/Soundtrack4Sale.htm

Through the Ubi store, you'll pay $14.99 for the soundtrack, and a whopping $6.65 in shipping and handling fees... and that's if you deliberately choose the 3-7 day shipping. The default is 2-day shipping which is even higher.

Sorry....

By the way, does anyone know what Track 17 on the soundtrack is? I've heard this piece of music before already, but I can't remember where. *furrows brow* This one piece isn't listed in the track listing on the CD.

Didn't Tim write and record that tract when URU was still in its early stages and being called Mudpie? Mix 01...

Track 17 is "Dirt".

I can't remember where it is from either. But I know I've heard it before.

EDIT: I looked back at some of my old files and found Dirt as "Mx01".

I think that was the song that was released a few years ago as the music for Spyder's realMYST trailer, and also on "Nikral Mit"'s site, as part of another Cyan puzzle, and was apparently going to be the theme music for Uru, though I guess it did not turn out that way.

Edit: Okay, I am probably wrong. I couldn't remember the name of it; all I knew was that it was 'dyrtpye.mp3', and that seemed close enough to 'Dirt'. mp3.com is renovating, so I couldn't check, anyway.... is 'Dirt' 2.38MB?

If I remember correctly the original Spyder realMyst trailer used Badlands. I wonder if anybody has it saved?

From what I can find Tim Larkin's 'Gallery Theme' picked up an award for 'Best Original Vocal Composition' at the awards on the 25th Smile

Oh, goodie, that's just about my favorite track. I used to just sit there in the gallery when I was doing math, or reading...

speaking of which, I managed to copy and convert the .ogg music files from the game folder, but I can't figure out what the computer knows the Gallery Theme as. Otherwise, I'd be listening to it right now.
