This is something I've started doing, kind of a quick reference to events that have happened. But it is worth reading the journals and books to gain further insight and information.

Part One: 205 BE - 2502 DE

Part Two: 2533 DE - 6284 DE

Part Three: 6731 DE - 9472 DE (It should be noted that all dates after the death of King Kerath are based on speculation)

Part Four: 1987 AD - 2004 AD

Excellent work, Farlesis. I was thinking of doing something along these lines, too. I think organizing events by time is a very useful tool.

Hi Professor and Kehrin

Thanks for your comments.

I totally agree Kehrin that organising events by time is a very useful tool and it helps me see things more easily in a chronological order. I like to see things in that kind of order, so if someone said 'such and such a thing happened' I can think oh yes that was around that time when he was King or when the Five Lords were ruling.

Will get the next two parts uploaded today.

I think a timeline also helps with deductions. For instance we wondered whether the garden mentioned in the King Shomat Story was Eder Kemo, but after we learned the relative dates, we knew it couldn't be.

Very cool work, Mystlander!

Question: Is there a zero year in the D'ni calendar, or did they simply start at the year one?

At the beginning, the D'ni inhabited a land called Garternay. At some point it was realised that the land was soon to perish. There was a great evacuation, and the Book of Earth was written by the Great king.

It is important to note that the year zero marks the D'ni's arrival on earth. The D'ni viewed their arrival on earth as a new beginning, of sorts, and marked the event with a blank year.

Ah, that's right, they used a zero year to mark the transition. I have a very bad memory. That's why I take notes. Embarassed Very Happy

Where does it say that the Book of D'ni was written by the "Great King?" I have seen two, or maybe three, of the kings of the D'ni called a Great King so far. I wonder if that was an expression of honor and loyalty that was used in some cases. Ri'neref wrote the Book of D'ni. Maybe they called him a Great King, too.

According to various journals, Ri'neref managed to attract a few thousand Ronay and convince them to follow him in the ways that he felt important and to the Age that he had written.

The King allowed Ri'neref to split away from the Ronay, along with a few other smaller groups, while the majority of Ronay left Garternay to a new home world called Terahnee.

Ri'neref took his group to Earth, where he established the D'ni (meaning "New Beginning"). Ri'neref was a strong leader, immediately establishing himself as King and reigning for 120 years until his death.
