Well, I just saw "Avatar" and I couldn't help thinking that Myst fans would love Pandora. Absolutely love it. I'm not saying you'd love "Avatar" (but you might) but I can guarantee you'd love the planet. And that alone is worth the admission. Absolutely stunning.

My wife & I just got home from seeing it. We paid the extra dough for the 3D showing. Absolutely incredible. You're so right about the planet having that Age feel to it.

Thanks, Prof Askew... I've also seen many great statements and reviews
about that movie, many of my friends watched this already... while searching
for it I found many sources where you can watch and/or download it even
for free... I wonder why and if that'd be legal but I also think that the experience
will be different in a cinema and even in 3D...

However, thanks for pointing to this one... I'll see if I will make it anytime soon... Very Happy

Thought it was a great 3D movie, the plot was more like a shootem up video game, but the planet had a lot of Myst related things, even the great tree Very Happy If you do not see it in 3D a lot is lost Shocked

I saw an article that said there were people feeling actually depressed because Pandora wasn't a real place they could go visit... and I thought to myself "BTDT"

LOL, I love that. Post-Melodramatic Stress Disorder.

I really enjoyed Avatar's beautiful environments and interesting alien creature designs. Yes, it really did resonate "Myst" with me.

Yesterday I finally watched this wonderful film, not in the cinema and not
in 3D though... a colleague lent me the DVD lol... but it was so impressive
and absolutely worth the time nonetheless ... Very Happy

It is, as everybody knows, a feast for the eyes and the ears as well, but
besides that it is full of wisdom and conveying a profound meaning and
deep sense... It was not as violent as I thought it would probably be,
maybe it was compensated with the astonishment, the excitement and
delight from the beginning 'til the end... and also as of the whole underlying
sense and beauty, the ever-present golden thread throughout the film...

Cameron delivered a wonderful portrayal of men, their wrongs, their
common attitudes and misconceptions, their charms, their strengths and
weaknesses in all shades and nuances... And, of course, I love his hintings
to the real world we're living in, the happenings here right now and for ages
already, haha... it's always the same old story (though it is ending right now
finally slowly slowly, I'm glad lol), the parallels and similarities to stories
in the sense like
"Artificially create gigantic, very dangerous and awful enemies (where
there are really none) as a proper and reasonable justification to defeat
those (going along with... ahem you know... all the businesses, profits
etc.) to finally get what you initially and secretly really wanted..." etc...

Yeah, and the ending, the Happy End is also more beautiful and astounding
as I could have been dreaming of... but I don't want to spoil everything
for the ones of you intending to watch this film one day... Razz

... Very Happy ...

There's another beautiful message, a remedy so to speak... it goes similar like this...
(I prefer the original version btw, but this one's more timely and the message is the same)

United we're strong, together as one, or "United we stand, Divided we fall"
though the latter isn't an option anymore... Very Happy
