did anyone happen to get a full chat log of JD talking last night? I had to bug to the surface for Miri, and I missed a good chunk of it.

I really would like to see him take the reins of the cavern in the DRCs absence. Especially since the ResEngs were mentioning him, too.

Just found this on our german forum Shocked ...lol... Very Happy

Yeah, but Joorea just posted the log as pasted below without
mentioning the source, maybe she logged it herself as she was
personally present:

(11/06 05:23:36) J.D. Barnes: I think we have a mission. What does everyone keep saying? "Find a way. Make a home.
(11/06 05:23:42) J'mee: No, but we could discover what our shared vision or mission IS. I believe we probably have one.
(11/06 05:23:43) Hilz: I'm in favor of an election of our own council to discuss and attempt to organize things. Of course, if a member is unsatisfactory, we the explorers could vote them out.
(11/06 05:23:47) Annacat: There has never been any group that provided oversight of all the others. The DRC never really supervised explorer groups. I think we've done OK.
(11/06 05:23:56) J'mee: Right, Anna
(11/06 05:24:02) J'mee: But a vision is important.
(11/06 05:24:07) J'mee: I bet we share one
(11/06 05:24:15) J.D. Barnes: D'ni is big enough for many visions, I argue.
(11/06 05:24:17) Finn Dove: We are all here
(11/06 05:24:1 J'mee: We must discover it and embrace
(11/06 05:24:25) orangehairedboy: There is a difference between Explorer groups and Guilds and organized groups that are attempting to better things.
(11/06 05:25:01) J.D. Barnes: The Ages are big enough for all of us. There's room for us to come together, and for us to follow our own paths as well.
(11/06 05:25:04) J'mee: I agree about D'ni being large enough for many visions
(11/06 05:25:14) J'mee: Well put.
(11/06 05:25:16) orangehairedboy: I agree with that 100% J.D.
(11/06 05:25:26) Tai'lahr: There are just so many that it gets confusing - especially to newcomers - and sometimes we duplicate our efforts.
(11/06 05:25:35) Kerryth: What is wrong with that?
(11/06 05:25:47) Tai'lahr shrugs
(11/06 05:25:49) J.D. Barnes: I think some of that is unavoidable.
(11/06 05:25:57) J'mee: Duplication might be healthy. If it is confusing for newcomers, we might want to address that
(11/06 05:25:5 Finn Dove: but not necessarily undesirable
(11/06 05:26:00) J.D. Barnes: But Tai,lahr, you do have an important point.
(11/06 05:26:06) orangehairedboy: Tai, perhaps that's an issue that we need to address internally within the GoG then? If we are going to take ownership of new explorers, then we need to do it 100%
(11/06 05:26:1 Kerryth: I think you underestimate newcomers.
(11/06 05:26:22) Tai'lahr: Ack!
(11/06 05:26:50) J'mee: We can address it via GoG and as individuals, yes?
(11/06 05:26:59) orangehairedboy: of course
(11/06 05:27:01) Tai'lahr: Perhaps there is room for alternatives.
(11/06 05:27:02) J'mee: JD what were you going to add?
(11/06 05:27:46) J.D. Barnes: I think that Tai'lahr is correct, there needs to be cohesiveness.
(11/06 05:28:16) J'mee nods his head
(11/06 05:28:16) Tai'lahr: And, maybe all we need is a mission statement that everyone can understand and get behind.
(11/06 05:28:22) J.D. Barnes: It cannot be forced, however. Explorers are to independent of a crew for top-down solutions.
(11/06 05:28:30) Joorea: where are Sharper, Phil and the others?
(11/06 05:28:32) Finn Dove nods his head
(11/06 05:28:39) Kerryth: Amen!
(11/06 05:28:39) J'mee: Absolutely correct
(11/06 05:28:44) orangehairedboy: agreed
(11/06 05:28:46) J.D. Barnes: Joorea, I wish I knew.
(11/06 05:29:09) Joorea: has everyone left the DRC and you are alone now?
(11/06 05:29:20) J.D. Barnes: So let those who want to make connection make connections. Let those of like mind work together.
(11/06 05:29:27) Tai'lahr: Well, my hoodmates are calling, so I must go. Good night, everyone.
(11/06 05:29:32) Finn Dove: Night Tai
(11/06 05:29:35) J.D. Barnes: Joorea, I am not alone. I am here, among my friends.
(11/06 05:29:35) J'mee: I don't think the Council is dissolved, just topside
(11/06 05:29:36) orangehairedboy: JD, if we then want a bottom-up solution, how do we prevent that from turning into a top-down solution, as bottom-up solutions usually do?
(11/06 05:29:52) Kerryth says goodnight to Tai'lahr
(11/06 05:30:04) Joorea: ok J.D. but I asked about the DRC members
(11/06 05:30:04) J.D. Barnes: Shorah Tai'lahr. Be well. I hope to talk to you again.
(11/06 05:30:35) Pryftan: Joorea: The council left, but we don't know about Sharper or Nick
(11/06 05:30:47) J.D. Barnes: Joorea, they have decided to focus on securing funding. I hope they return. I know they are most welcome
(11/06 05:31:02) Joorea: thank you Pryftan and J.D.
(11/06 05:31:04) DocOlanA: JD, thank you for talking to us. I fear I have to go for the night.
(11/06 05:31:06) DocOlanA: Shorah b'shemtee.
(11/06 05:31:17) J.D. Barnes: Thank you Doc. Always a pleasure/
(11/06 05:31:1 orangehairedboy: Shorah DocOlanA
(11/06 05:31:19) J'mee: Goodnight, DocOlanA
(11/06 05:31:24) Pryftan: Shorah, Doc.
(11/06 05:31:27) Sh'aeri: shorah!
(11/06 05:31:34) Lydiamalia: Shorah Doc
(11/06 05:31:50) Kerryth: Good night.
(11/06 05:32:23) Joorea: Good Night
(11/06 05:32:25) DeeV8 (I'm on the surface, be back in a minute):
(11/06 05:32:49) J.D. Barnes looks around for a bit
(11/06 05:32:53) Joorea: so this is the Exodus of the DRC members, J.D.?
(11/06 05:33:06) J.D. Barnes: Exodus is as good a term as any.
(11/06 05:33:07) Joorea: except you
(11/06 05:33:13) Pryftan: The city's so quiet now, without the shreiking Bahro..
(11/06 05:33:23) J'mee: Yes, like night and day
(11/06 05:33:37) Joorea: but the destruction will come...
(11/06 05:33:39) Kerryth: It seems "normal" again.
(11/06 05:33:44) Niika: It's hard to get used to the silence again
(11/06 05:33:49) J.D. Barnes: I'm not a DRC member. But no, I will not be leaving. Even if the Bahro bring the Cavern down, I will continue to return.
(11/06 05:34:11) Joorea: so where do you belong to, J.D.?
(11/06 05:34:15) orangehairedboy: JD, is there a reason that Cate and the others felt that leaving the counsil to get funding was better than staying on the counsil while getting funding?
(11/06 05:34:20) Finn Dove glances up at the cavern ceiling
(11/06 05:34:26) J.D. Barnes: Formally, I am a free agent.
(11/06 05:34:46) From Dogwood in Dogwood's Relto: Nite all:)
(11/06 05:34:49) Kerryth: Only Cate left the Council. The others only left the Cavern.
(11/06 05:34:50) J.D. Barnes: orange, I'm not sure Cate left to find funding.
(11/06 05:34:55) Joorea: a free agent for..Game Tap...Cyan...?
(11/06 05:34:56) august rose (I'm on the surface, be back in a minute):
(11/06 05:35:00) Pryftan: Honestly, if I thought I could find someone to fund our efforts, I'd leave myself for the time being. I feel like Marie and Victor did the right thing in doing what they did.
(11/06 05:35:02) Niika: I believe Cate is the only one who left the DRC
(11/06 05:35:14) J.D. Barnes: I think Cate left because there was no funding.
(11/06 05:35:14) J'mee: Agreed
(11/06 05:35:24) orangehairedboy: got it
(11/06 05:35:25) Joorea: : Niika: look at yr new KI message
(11/06 05:35:25) J'mee: They did the right thing
(11/06 05:35:42) J.D. Barnes: Joorea, just a free agent. An explorer, like any other.
(11/06 05:35:51) Joorea: Marie, Laxman and Kodama left also
(11/06 05:35:55) Finn Dove: he just talks better
(11/06 05:35:56) Niika: I know that Marie & Victor have left the cavern. That's not the same thing
(11/06 05:36:00) J.D. Barnes: J'mee, they are doing what they think is best. Hard to fault them for that.
(11/06 05:36:1 Pryftan: Marie, Laxman, and Kodama didn't leave the DRC, just the cavern
(11/06 05:36:26) Niika: I believe taht they will return at some point
(11/06 05:36:3 Joorea: I hope so...
(11/06 05:36:4 orangehairedboy: However, what happens if they cannot find funding? There is much knowledge about D'ni that they have not shared with the explorers...we cannot possibly continue their work without them.
(11/06 05:37:02) Finn Dove: let us continue our own work then
(11/06 05:37:06) Joorea: the writers can
(11/06 05:37:12) Kerryth: There was more work than they could do. We will have work of our own.
(11/06 05:37:35) Pryftan: Without their cooperation in some aspect at least, we have to do our own work instead of theirs
(11/06 05:37:41) orangehairedboy: True, but without their findings, we will be repeating work which has already been done.
(11/06 05:37:56) J.D. Barnes: orange, there are always things we cannot do. Maybe we'll not get more histories of the D'ni. But I don't think that should deter us.
(11/06 05:38:22) Pryftan: For the time being I will settle for that, but in the long run I think we need to work with them upon their return, whether they have money or not.
(11/06 05:38:23) J'mee: I don't think we are meant to believe that the DRC is gone for good.
(11/06 05:38:26) orangehairedboy: Oh I'm not deterred one bit - you know me as Yob with the linguistics
(11/06 05:38:3 Joorea: what about the destruction? will the bahro return?
(11/06 05:38:42) J.D. Barnes: Ah.. yes.
(11/06 05:39:19) J.D. Barnes: Joorea, I don't know.
(11/06 05:39:24) J'mee: I think that some explorers have taken to grabbing back the pillars
(11/06 05:39:31) Error: Don't know how to '/shout...one mouseclick......'
(11/06 05:39:39) J.D. Barnes raises an eyebrow.
(11/06 05:39:40) J'mee: In hopes they will be locking away Bahro
(11/06 05:39:41) Finn Dove is puzzled
(11/06 05:39:44) orangehairedboy: Yeesha would not be happy about that
(11/06 05:39:52) Joorea: ..one mouseclick....
(11/06 05:39:54) J.D. Barnes: I'm not sure that is particularly wise.
(11/06 05:40:01) J'mee: But I'm not sure it works that way, anyway
(11/06 05:40:13) orangehairedboy: Considering what happened to Esher, not wise at all.
(11/06 05:40:14) Ben Dixon chuckles
(11/06 05:40:20) Niika: Yeesha said that most of the bahro were good
(11/06 05:40:25) J'mee nods his head
(11/06 05:40:36) Niika: We can't condemn them all based on the actions of a few
(11/06 05:40:3 Pryftan: We don't understand the pillars, but I doubt moving them to your Relto will enslave them.
(11/06 05:40:44) J'mee: Exactly
(11/06 05:40:46) Finn Dove: and we need them to protect us, don't we?
(11/06 05:40:52) Pryftan: Remember it was the action of moving them there and returning them that freed them
(11/06 05:41:00) orangehairedboy: Nor do we know which are the good ones and which are the bad. We must trust Yeesha as she knows the Bahro.
(11/06 05:41:03) Pryftan: In some sense
(11/06 05:41:20) J'mee: Yes. Once freed, I doubt pillar manipulations matter to the particular Bahro that was freed
(11/06 05:41:20) GentleFire waves hello
(11/06 05:41:24) Hilz: We only know of how to identify one that is bad.
(11/06 05:41:26) Joorea: they will destruct the city
(11/06 05:41:36) Sh'aeri waves hello
(11/06 05:41:42) Joorea: they do, I'm sure
(11/06 05:41:57) Niika: Sharper seems to be the only one with a built in evil bahro detector
(11/06 05:42:05) Finn Dove: but he missed
(11/06 05:42:12) J'mee: But in case it does matter, we might want to consider discouraging such behavior
(11/06 05:42:22) Joorea: ...storyline...
(11/06 05:43:24) J'mee: Well, folks, I'm off to rejoin my family at our hood for a good night's sleep.
(11/06 05:43:33) orangehairedboy: Granted we don't know exactly what happens when someone takes back the pillars, but do you really want to risk pissing off a Bahro? It's a simple proposition to me
(11/06 05:43:36) J.D. Barnes: It's good to have family, J'mee.
(11/06 05:43:37) Finn Dove: G'night J'mee
(11/06 05:43:51) Joorea: good night
(11/06 05:43:51) J'mee: Mr Barnes, it's been a great pleasure to meet you and speak with you. I hope to do it again sometime.
(11/06 05:43:53) orangehairedboy: nite J'mee
(11/06 05:44:04) J.D. Barnes: I hope so as well. Shorah b'shem.
(11/06 05:44:05) Sh'aeri: Night j'mee
(11/06 05:44:06) J'mee: I'll see you all around the Cavern.
(11/06 05:44:09) J'mee: Goodnight.
(11/06 05:44:2 Joorea: yes, thank you J.D., agent and explorer
(11/06 05:44:29) Norton (I'm on the surface, be back in a minute):
(11/06 05:44:3 Kerryth: I must go as well. Thank you for letting me join you for a little while.
(11/06 05:44:47) orangehairedboy: Nite Kerryth
(11/06 05:44:54) J.D. Barnes: Kerryth, always a pleasure.
(11/06 05:44:5 Joorea: nite
(11/06 05:45:02) Finn Dove remembers that old tune, "Secret Agent Man"
(11/06 05:45:11) Finn Dove: Night Kerryth
(11/06 05:45:16) orangehairedboy sings it in his head
(11/06 05:45:26) Bendarek says DOH!
(11/06 05:45:2 Annacat: You know, for the longest time I thought they were saying "Secret Asian Man"
(11/06 05:45:33) Finn Dove: lol
(11/06 05:45:34) Annacat: It made no sense at all
(11/06 05:45:36) orangehairedboy: haha
(11/06 05:45:39) Joorea: lol
(11/06 05:45:39) J.D. Barnes: So, we all have things we want to do here. Why don't we share some of those ideas....
(11/06 05:45:46) Niika: lol, for years I thought it was Secret Asian Man too
(11/06 05:45:46) Hilz: I suppose it's time I head to bed as well. Tomorrow is a new day, and the work starts early.
(11/06 05:46:15) GentleFire ponders on all the ideas
(11/06 05:46:16) Sh'aeri: It's weird, but I want to learn how to make pens.
(11/06 05:46:17) Finn Dove: Will you pursue linguistics JD?
(11/06 05:46:26) Hilz waves goodbye
(11/06 05:46:27) Joorea: ok, what about the idea to build a home by the writers
(11/06 05:46:39) J.D. Barnes: Sh'aeri, that sounds like a good goal.
(11/06 05:46:41) Hilz: Goodnight all.
(11/06 05:46:46) Finn Dove: Night Hilz
(11/06 05:46:4 Joorea: from the writers guild
(11/06 05:46:49) Dusk (I'm on the surface, be back in a minute):
(11/06 05:46:56) Mar'ith: g'night Hilz
(11/06 05:47:00) Sh'aeri: Or join a guild of robemakers, I can make clothes pretty good.
(11/06 05:47:14) orangehairedboy: I'd like to become fluent in D'ni - at least as much of the language as we know.
(11/06 05:47:17) GentleFire: Count me in Sh'aeri
(11/06 05:47:21) J.D. Barnes: Joorea, the writers are working on reconstructing the Art. I've heard exciting things bout their work.
(11/06 05:47:33) Moiety Jean: I don't think that's weird, Sh'aeri.
(11/06 05:47:34) Joorea: me too
(11/06 05:47:35) Sh'aeri: Yep good reason to make a pen then.
(11/06 05:47:39) J.D. Barnes: Sh'aeri, I've heard of a lady who makes D'ni-inspired quilts. Have you heard of her?
(11/06 05:47:50) Bendarek: unless these writers on on strike, too..
(11/06 05:47:53) Sh'aeri: yeah, I know Budgie! She rocks!
(11/06 05:47:59) Sh'aeri: i made her a few quilt blocks.
(11/06 05:48:03) J.D. Barnes: Terrific!
(11/06 05:48:06) orangehairedboy: three cheers for budgie!
(11/06 05:48:09) Joorea: and does this exciting things may have a home here?
(11/06 05:48:12) Moiety Jean: Oh, Budgie's quilts are gorgeous.
(11/06 05:48:15) Sh'aeri: but that was way way back in the day.
(11/06 05:48:16) GentleFire cheers
(11/06 05:48:1 GentleFire cheers
(11/06 05:48:20) J.D. Barnes: Joorea, time will tell.
(11/06 05:48:21) GentleFire cheers
(11/06 05:48:47) Niika: Is there anywhere that I could see these quilts?
(11/06 05:48:47) Sh'aeri: Yeah I was there when she formed the D'ni Threads.
(11/06 05:49:02) J.D. Barnes: orange, learning D'ni is a good pursuit as well. I've heard some of the linguists are considering reconstructing a mdern version of D'ni to use in conversation.
(11/06 05:49:03) Sh'aeri: just ask her Niika, she'll be happy to show you.
(11/06 05:49:04) Joorea: I want to hear more from you J.D. because you wanted to talk about new ideas
(11/06 05:49:22) J.D. Barnes: Joorea, I'm not the only one with good ideas.
(11/06 05:49:24) orangehairedboy: JD, yeah...you and i debated that the other day, remember?
(11/06 05:49:2 Moiety Jean: That would be neat.
(11/06 05:49:37) Moiety Jean: A common language in the cavern
(11/06 05:49:45) Joorea: ok what will be another good idea?
(11/06 05:49:51) orangehairedboy: I'm ok with the idea...but I want to learn the real thing first.
(11/06 05:49:55) Annacat: So... if the DRC are gone... we don't technically have to follow their rules anymore, right?
(11/06 05:49:5 J.D. Barnes: orange, oh yes. I forgot that you are using a different KI at the moment...
(11/06 05:50:13) GentleFire: You're not the only one with ideas J.D. but your very good at gathering people and getting those around you to think of new possibilities.
(11/06 05:50:19) Moiety Jean: I suppose not, Annacat
(11/06 05:50:20) J.D. Barnes: Anna, I'm not sure we had to in the first place.
(11/06 05:50:34) Moiety Jean: though we still are unable to reach areas they have cordoned off
(11/06 05:50:37) orangehairedboy: I do love conlangs though...got a couple under my belt...would love to work on a new D'ni one - it would certainly be fun!
(11/06 05:50:3 Sh'aeri thanks Ben
(11/06 05:50:39) Annacat: Oh, just some barricades that are asking to be climbed.
(11/06 05:50:47) J.D. Barnes: GentleFire, I'm not unique in that, either. The former Liaisons were very good at that. Eleri still continues to do so.
(11/06 05:50:50) Annacat: I'm persistent
(11/06 05:51:06) GentleFire nods her head
(11/06 05:51:07) Moiety Jean: In that way, we're still governed by some of their rules.
(11/06 05:51:22) Saint Kip: anyone want to give me a hand with ahnonay
(11/06 05:51:34) J.D. Barnes: Well, we have limitations, simply because of the nature of the universe we inhabit.
(11/06 05:51:45) Sh'aeri: Well said J.D.
(11/06 05:51:56) J.D. Barnes: We can stand and shout at the sea, or we can learn to sail.
(11/06 05:52:15) Moiety Jean chuckles lightly
(11/06 05:52:25) Sh'aeri: Now I want to know when the Guild of Shipmakers is going to show up...that arch is calling to me BIG TIME
(11/06 05:52:26) J.D. Barnes: Anyone available to help Kip with Ahnonay? I'm not up to it myslef, I'm afraid.
(11/06 05:52:34) Joorea: I think you are from Gametap J.D.
(11/06 05:52:35) GentleFire starts to laugh
(11/06 05:52:39) Finn Dove: lol
(11/06 05:52:42) orangehairedboy: Sure...where are you Kip?
(11/06 05:52:43) Moiety Jean: I'd like to but I am fairly drained.
(11/06 05:53:00) J.D. Barnes: Joorea, actually, I'm from Nort Carolina, originally.
(11/06 05:53:01) Sh'aeri: Cavern Life is Good
(11/06 05:53:07) Joorea: lool
(11/06 05:53:07) Pryftan: Oof.. seem to have dosed off for a second there
(11/06 05:53:0 Elliott K. (I'm on the surface, be back in a minute):
(11/06 05:53:12) Annacat: I'm not going to be up much longer, and I'd hate to have to leave in the middle of Ahnonay
(11/06 05:53:15) Pryftan: Hello.
(11/06 05:53:27) Finn Dove: i should have hit the hay hours ago myself
(11/06 05:53:36) GentleFire: Ya know, i've turned out to be a pretty good swimmer. Bet I could swim to the arch.
(11/06 05:53:46) GIR.exe:
(11/06 05:53:53) Sh'aeri: if I could hit the water here GF, I'd be in the water already
(11/06 05:54:11) Sh'aeri: But we must think of the Algae
(11/06 05:54:22) GentleFire: oh yeah
(11/06 05:54:29) Mar'ith: And is the water healthy to swim in?
(11/06 05:54:29) Niika: Me too Finn. This place has a way of sucking me in for hours
(11/06 05:54:35) Sh'aeri: We'd come out of the water Glowing baby!!!
(11/06 05:54:37) Finn Dove smiles
(11/06 05:54:41) Joorea: it is just because normally the VIP's (and you are one, J.D.) telling us where their from
(11/06 05:54:43) orangehairedboy: JD, I'm going to go help Kip with Ahnonay, in case you're gone when I get back...thanks...a pleasure as usual
(11/06 05:54:52) Sh'aeri: Woohoo look Mom, I'm glowing!
(11/06 05:54:52) Finn Dove: wait, don't we already glow?
(11/06 05:55:05) GentleFire: Glowing and a twin growing out of our backs.
(11/06 05:55:07) Mar'ith: some of us do glow
(11/06 05:55:11) J.D. Barnes: Always a pleausre, orange. Keep me updated on the D'ni dialect
(11/06 05:55:14) Sh'aeri: boats, I'm thinking boats would be a good thing.
(11/06 05:55:32) Sh'aeri: Just don't let me steer.
(11/06 05:55:52) Sh'aeri: We'd go to Irrat when we wanted to go to K'veer
(11/06 05:55:57) Sh'aeri roars with laughter
(11/06 05:55:59) Annacat: You could totally bring canoes down here by linking.
(11/06 05:56:0 Finn Dove: Kayaks!
(11/06 05:56:10) Joorea: the Relayers told us you are a financier of the DRC
(11/06 05:56:12) GentleFire: Babysteps..babysteps... We need tools!
(11/06 05:56:14) J.D. Barnes: As long as we don't end up in Albuquerque, I think I'll be fine.
(11/06 05:56:19) BIG thumbs up from Sh'aeri
(11/06 05:56:21) Joorea: that's why I asked you
(11/06 05:56:39) Sh'aeri: Where's D'ni Home Depot?!
(11/06 05:56:45) I-SPY: Where is K'veer?
(11/06 05:56:47) J.D. Barnes: me? A financier?
(11/06 05:56:49) Finn Dove: I heard JD was an anthropologist
(11/06 05:56:51) J.D. Barnes: Hardly.
(11/06 05:57:04) Joorea: lol
(11/06 05:57:0 J.D. Barnes: I'm an anthropologist by training and trade.
(11/06 05:57:11) Simon_Bitdiddle: Down the hall from the DRC Gift Shop!
(11/06 05:57:20) Sh'aeri roars with laughter
(11/06 05:57:33) Moiety Jean rubs the sleep out of her eyes
(11/06 05:57:35) GentleFire: Ok, we need Home Depot..to get the tools...to build the boats...to sail to the arch...to take pictures?
(11/06 05:57:49) kegean: There a gift shop oboy
(11/06 05:57:49) Finn Dove watches Moiety's sleep bounce across the floor
(11/06 05:57:51) Sh'aeri: No, to get to the stock of Kerath's Arch Bottled Water.
(11/06 05:58:05) I-SPY: Serously, where is K'Veer?
(11/06 05:58:0 GentleFire roars with laughter
(11/06 05:58:11) J.D. Barnes smiles.
(11/06 05:58:21) Moiety Jean:
(11/06 05:58:24) Annacat: Next time I link down here, I'm bringing a canoe with me. You can all use it.
(11/06 05:58:27) kegean: Kveer sutherland
(11/06 05:58:32) Mar'ith: i want to install a camera at the top of the arch in case the Bahro return
(11/06 05:58:33) J.D. Barnes: I-SPY: Across the lake. But there are other ways to get there.
(11/06 05:58:45) Moiety Jean makes a game of kicking the sleep over to the next person to pass along
(11/06 05:58:52) I-SPY: I know, but I though if I asked too it would add emphasis!
(11/06 05:59:10) Finn Dove jumps over it
(11/06 05:59:27) Simon_Bitdiddle: Is it already time to play hackysack with sleep?
(11/06 05:59:30) Niika catches the sleep and collapses on the cavern floor
(11/06 05:59:37) GentleFire wipes the tears of laughter from her eyes
(11/06 05:59:50) Moiety Jean: Thank you, Annacat. I will gladly row a canoe for hours to travel about the lake. You don't suppose we'd attact anything large enough to eat us, would we?
(11/06 05:59:50) Sh'aeri: NOOOOO. LOL
(11/06 05:59:5 kegean: Look a ufo
(11/06 05:59:59) Pryftan gets hit by sleep.. again
(11/06 06:00:00) Annacat: Um... probably not?
(11/06 06:00:16) Simon_Bitdiddle: There's still the Cavern Shark...
(11/06 06:00:19) Annacat: Except there was that one video of... um...
(11/06 06:00:25) Annacat: Probably not.
(11/06 06:00:2 PhoenixFlight: Where'd all the flying bahro go?
(11/06 06:00:3 Simon_Bitdiddle: To follow Yeesha, Phoenix.
(11/06 06:00:45) Joorea: away with Yeesha
(11/06 06:00:51) Niika: Yeesha took them away
(11/06 06:00:55) Annacat: My thinking with canoes is, you can link with anything you can take a step with.
(11/06 06:01:01) PhoenixFlight: Oh didn't know she could call them
(11/06 06:01:04) Moiety Jean: yes
(11/06 06:01:14) Annacat: I can portage a canoe by myself, so I should be able to link with one too.
(11/06 06:01:15) Moiety Jean: should be a relatively simple matter..
(11/06 06:01:1 Niika: all I need are my trusty water wings
(11/06 06:01:36) Simon_Bitdiddle: I'm not sure if it's safe to cross the lake... Bahro gotta poop too.
(11/06 06:01:45) Moiety Jean: I wonder what the limitations might be on scuba-diving in the lake
(11/06 06:01:46) PhoenixFlight: Lol
(11/06 06:01:47) Annacat: Then we could paddle to wherever we wanted
(11/06 06:01:49) Finn Dove: No more Bahro
(11/06 06:01:51) Joorea: lool
(11/06 06:01:54) Moiety Jean: gross.
(11/06 06:01:5 Annacat: I don't know how to scuba dive
(11/06 06:01:59) J.D. Barnes: Anna, visibility I'd think.
(11/06 06:02:01) Sh'aeri: When y'all get the canoe here, let me know, I'll volunteer to be the ferryman. (or FerryGirl or Ferry Person)
(11/06 06:02:17) J.D. Barnes: We'll rename you CHaron, Sha'eri
(11/06 06:02:22) Niika: I just want a hang glider
(11/06 06:02:23) Annacat: Hahaha
(11/06 06:02:24) Sh'aeri: i know how to dive. Scuba gear would be great here.
(11/06 06:02:2 Finn Dove: ferrying a canoe can be mighty tricky
(11/06 06:02:2 Pryftan: Haha.
(11/06 06:02:34) Annacat: Just what are you implying, JD?
(11/06 06:02:39) Simon_Bitdiddle: Yes, but the remnants of previous Bahro pooperating would contaminate the water still. We don't know what sort of interesting parasites and whatnot they have infesting their digestive tracts...
(11/06 06:02:42) Moiety Jean: (if she tries to give you the oar, don't take it)
(11/06 06:03:02) Simon_Bitdiddle snickers.
(11/06 06:03:09) Sh'aeri: Ok, I've got to head out, take care everyone, much love to all of you and thank you for being here.
(11/06 06:03:10) Finn Dove ponders the word "pooperating" and wonders if he shouldn't have gone to bed already
(11/06 06:03:12) J.D. Barnes: We may be far enough underground that we are close to Hades, so you never know.
(11/06 06:03:16) PhoenixFlight: That was way too indepth simon lol
(11/06 06:03:2 Moiety Jean: Ok, well, Simon has ruined germophobic Moiety Jean's interest in diving in the lake
(11/06 06:03:3 Annacat: Well, you can come in the canoe
(11/06 06:03:40) Simon_Bitdiddle: Hey, I'm in the DZS... We do that sort of talk commonly.
(11/06 06:03:4 Annacat: You don't have to touch the water at all
(11/06 06:03:50) kegean: I think ill just jump
(11/06 06:03:57) Moiety Jean: Goodnight Sh'aeri
(11/06 06:04:00) Niika: can't be any worse than Lake Michigan
(11/06 06:04:04) PhoenixFlight: Well you've ruin any swimming ideas we had lol
(11/06 06:04:04) Annacat: Oh, Simon, Quaxo says hi to the DZS and she misses you
(11/06 06:04:07) Finn Dove: Night Sh'aeri
(11/06 06:04:10) J.D. Barnes: Shorah Sh'aeri
(11/06 06:04:12) kegean: Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
(11/06 06:04:14) Moiety Jean: I always dribble water down the oar onto me when I paddle
(11/06 06:04:19) Simon_Bitdiddle: Give Quaxo a hug for me, Anna!
(11/06 06:04:22) To J.D. Barnes: what is the reason that you talk to us as an agent?
(11/06 06:04:23) kegean: Splash
(11/06 06:04:29) Annacat: I will, a virtual one at least
(11/06 06:04:30) kegean: Down
(11/06 06:04:32) Mar'ith realises it's almost time to get up and he hasn't even slept yet
(11/06 06:04:32) Moiety Jean: though that was more likely with kayaking
(11/06 06:04:4 From J.D. Barnes: I have no official title or job. I don't work for anyone but myself.
(11/06 06:04:53) Annacat: MJ, you WILL canoe across the lake with me. And you will like it.
(11/06 06:04:59) kegean: Oh look rhe backstroke weeeeeeeeeeeee
(11/06 06:05:04) Moiety Jean: Yes'm
(11/06 06:05:04) Simon_Bitdiddle: But seriously, we should discuss with the remanants of the DRC what sort of projects the DRC was involved in and what sort of assistance we can provide.
(11/06 06:05:05) Finn Dove: What we need is that submarine seen in Riven if you ask me
(11/06 06:05:0 Moiety Jean salutes
(11/06 06:05:12) To J.D. Barnes: sorry but I don't believe that
(11/06 06:05:30) From J.D. Barnes: Well, that's your perrogative.
(11/06 06:05:34) kegean: Leaks
(11/06 06:05:36) To J.D. Barnes: lol
(11/06 06:05:54) kegean: Water cold
(11/06 06:06:00) Simon_Bitdiddle: If any. Even in their *ahem* exodus, they didn't manage to open the kimono that much.
(11/06 06:06:09) To J.D. Barnes: I think you know exactly what I mean
(11/06 06:06:09) J.D. Barnes: Simon, there are a lot of things that can be done. I think the work of the DZS is important.
(11/06 06:06:2 To J.D. Barnes: but ok the show must go on...I hope so...for all of us
(11/06 06:06:39) kegean: Dnger will danger
(11/06 06:06:4 From J.D. Barnes: Ah, well I guess you have made up your mind.
(11/06 06:06:59) To J.D. Barnes: of course
(11/06 06:07:03) Mar'ith: I think I will go and get some sleep. Goodnight everyone.
(11/06 06:07:03) Simon_Bitdiddle: The DZS has had lab requests filed with them for well over six months and we haven't heard anything back from them.
(11/06 06:07:21) Moiety Jean: uh oh.
(11/06 06:07:27) Moiety Jean: Goodnight Mar'ith
(11/06 06:07:36) Finn Dove: Night Mar'ith
(11/06 06:07:45) To J.D. Barnes: thank you for friendly answering all questions
(11/06 06:07:47) kegean: i see dead poeple
(11/06 06:07:54) From J.D. Barnes: Always glad to help.

interesting, that seems to be from someone trying to figure out who he is, and who he works for.

There was some further discussion after that; when I arrived, MJ, Annacat, SimonBitdiddle and orangehairedboy were still there... Mr. Barnes accidentally bumped his Relto book and didn't return promptly, and so others wandered off. He came back for a short bit, then declared he needed to rest.

The tone of his brief return was to attempt to convince others that all is not lost and that explorers are already making accomplishments. (One or two present explorers had complained that nothing would get done and efforts were futile.)

When someone said something about the Restoration being ended, Mr. Barnes was quick to say:
"The Restoration will continue."

I felt the speed and delivery of those particular words was comforting... and I thought the choice of words interesting, too. Recently I've seen many parallels between certain conversations now, and 4 years ago.

I wandered off to talk to a fellow who may have been the one privately messaging Barnes in that chat. He practically insisted I come talk to him alone, and I figured no harm done since he couldn't do me any damage and I didn't have anything pressing to do.
He mentioned that in a recent ResEng orientation session the ResEng (whose name he didn't recall -- I'd like to know) mentioned J.D., Reteltee, and myself as people to talk to or listen to, or something like that. I'm really not sure why my name came up! Seemed to have something to do with pushing the pellet contribution issue. Wish I had more info on the conversation. The fellow suspected I was from Cyan and he seemed to believe me when I informed him I'm not. It was interesting, however. Am I really being pegged as a person for newcomers to talk to? It boggles the mind!

The chatlog was recorded by Joorea, who also is the person talking
privately to him... dunno, what she intended, maybe just for fun,
didn't talk to them for some time over TeamSpeak... /shrug Razz

So, the person you've been talking to, MJ, is more mysterious than before now...
...and interesting as well... maybe what he's talking about also has to do
with incidents like the McKenzie one or such... Very Happy

Hey, our First Lady is going to be famous, I believe...Yeah!!! Very Happy

Ah. I was mistaken then. The fellow I spoke to was someone else. I didn't speak to Joorea outside the city. Barnes must have been getting prodded by multiple people over pm that night. Very Happy
Poor. J.D.

Famous? Me? Nah. Razz

Haha, thought exactly the same, MJ, and really wondered,
what's that all about, she was asking him... He was so kind
and patiently answering as always... Poor, J.D... Very Happy
