From someone you doesn't know a thing about how to make a website, I think it looks good. Easy to read and to the point, I like it also.

I like it quite a bit. Two minor comments:

1. Erik's area of expertise: I feel like there is more space between the keywords and the body than there needs to be. However, I think we'll need to add some of the longest keywords to know whether that perception is true or not.

2. Tweek's area of expertise: I think the website may benefit from adjusting the colors... When I look directly at my laptop screen it isn't too bad, but at an angle, the white text washes out on the lighter purple backgrounds. That suggests to me that a scheme with greater contrast would be better.

You mean the space between the tag on the one hand and the title and description on the other hand?
I changed the width of the tag column from 200px to 150px now. I also saw I forgot to specify the width at the top level, so I did that as well. (Don't forget to refresh to properly reload the css file)

Better now?

Hm, it does not look any different to me.

Thank you for continuing to work on this, Erik!

Wow, that's a great and impressive statement, Blade!!!

And as of the Nexus, I'm really sorry, that it wasn't used as
intended and well-deserved... so much work and efforts went
into it, and I really loved it... I wandered through it (the whole
Mystembassy.net) a few times, it was very imposing and I've
discovered so many new things, I've never even heard of, and
it was also much fun and entertaining... Razz

I like your Rel.to site very much, Erik...

Thank you, Tweek and everybody, for your nice and encouraging comments,
and I'm glad, that you both, Marten and Erik, continue to work on our great
Uru resource for the benefit of the whole community... Very Happy

I am so very glad that Jana is here to help remind me of the thanks I need to give to everyone else. My brain feels scattered to the four winds...

First, a thank you to Blade for his endorsement of the Rel.to project and his words of guidance.

Second, a thank you to Tweek and Robert for their encouragement to continue.

Independently, further thanks to Tweek for the wonderful banner for the top. I know that Tweek spent quite a while on it, I saw his initial work on the book about two weeks ago. It really does look keen.

Thank you also to dcos and Szark for offering the positive feedback on the design that Erik has been working on.

I'll repeat my thanks to Erik for doing the coding and sticking with this project.

And thank you, Jana, for continuing to be a point of light in these times when I am feeling so dark myself.

Something that crossed my mind... The page is exactly 1024 pixels width now. However, people that have a screen width of 1024 pixels will also need some space for the borders of their browser window and for the vertical scrollbar.
So I think I have to cut a few pixels from the left and right of the header...

I also have the feeling that IE6 makes a mess of the header, as it usually makes a mess of everything. So I need to check that out as well. Razz

Also, I had set up a nice vertical space between entries, but that fails to show up in IE7! It's only there in Firefox. Confused
EDIT: Fixed. People who use IE7 need to refresh.

Fixed the 1024px issue. Instead of cutting a few pixels from the side of the header, I made it so that the left and right bits of the header hide. (Try resizing your window horizontally to about 1024px and you'll see what I mean)

I also added an experimental search function, and placed a non-working link to preferences...

And surprisingly, everything works okay in IE6.

I designed the header so it can fit any width. Basically the part of the header would be centered on the site, then the edges that bleeds out would be tiled across the x axis, giving the impression that the header has stretched across, no matter how big the screen res of the user the header would still give the impression of running across the entire screen.
