I recently joined this forum, and offered to help with the documentaries, but I've never properly introduced myself! Embarassed
So, here a bit about me, if anyone is interested. Wink

Well, I'm Erik, I'm 15 years old and I live in the Netherlands. I've just discovered the whole Myst franchise a year ago, when I saw MYST ME in the store for only €3,50! After I had played Myst, I played Riven, Exile and Revelation.
It was then, that I learned about Uru and D'ni. I didn't understand Uru at first, until I realised it was all from an IC perspective... You are you. I was completely immersed by the game and everything D'ni! With that enthousiasm I joined the community... and also learned much about the community itself...
I also learned much about Prologue, and read some chat logs. It was very special to read those chat logs with a guy (Douglas), I only knew of a journal. I also learned about the divide between the explorers, and of course about the Great Tree! (And I finally understood why there was a T-shirt in POTS with a kind of tree symbol... Laughing)
When the documentaries were started here, I was really impressed. The episodes are of really good quality and best of all: I could learn much more about Prologue.
And before I forget to mention it... I've also read the novels. Razz

As I said, I'm from the Netherlands, and it's really cool to interact with other explorers in English. It's a great way to improve my English, I've even heard a few times that people couldn't notice I didn't speak English by nature. It's really nice to hear such things and to be a part of such an awesome community...

So, in a nutshell: I've just felt the call... Cool

Hope to meet you in cavern! Smile

Welcome Erik! I've enjoyed your posts so far and I think it's neat we have a Netherlandian (is that a word?) on the forum. Smile For not being a native english speaker, your english is great!

As far as the books go, I've read Ti'ana about five years ago and I'm in the middle of Atrus as we speak. I blew through half of that book over the holiday last weekend and I'm having so much fun seeing correlations between what I already know about D'ni and what I'm reading in the book! Exciting!

Right on! Good to officially meet you, Erik! Very Happy

You sure blasted through the Myst series since finding out about it! Good for you! (I still have yet to finish Riven, Revelation and POTS...*sigh*...oh, AND the novels...I'm so behind!)

I'm so glad that this is such an international community! Too much fun! Very Happy

Anyhou...*breaks out the welcome muffins*

Only 15?!

Wow, from the way you discuss things clearly and thoughtfully, I was certain you were older Smile

Welcome, Erik! I, too, thought you were older. Then again, I thought I was younger. Any other teenagers out there that visit The Great Tree regularly? I know Gadren is a less-than-twenty. Anyone else?

The thing Quaxo isn't telling you is she only poisons muffins she's giving to me. She has yet to show such murderous urges toward any other member. Wink

Erik, it's good to see you. I'm glad you decided to say hi. Smile

Mmm, yes. My nefarious plan to get the entire Great Tree addicted to my muffins is working perfectly. Soon, I will rule the...waitaminute.

*picks up still-sealed bottle of "Will-B-Gone"* Dangit! I KNEW I was forgetting something! *fumes*

Ahem...that thing wasn't recording, was it? Aheh heh... Embarassed

OSmile

(This wouldn't be a decent forum thread if it didn't get de-railed at least once, am I right? Wink )

I thought I was the only one allowed to have insidious plans here! Cool

Methinks Quaxo fits in nicely.
