I think it looks really good! In my opinion, Engberg running off in another direction doesn't warrant a reshoot of the entire scene. I don't think it's imparative, but that's just my two cents.

Phil and Laxman look really tiny in that shot looking over the barricades. Laughing Most of the shots have been done from an "explorer" POV so far. Was that one shot from above?

That shot is slightly elevated, and so are some of the DRC scenes; it's the only good way to get the barricade in view but not obscure the people I'm trying to film. I can experiment with zooms a bit to finesse it.

Wow! It's soooooooooo great! Very Happy The more I watch those episodes, the more I long to Uru Live. You're doing a great job, thumbs up! Smile
The changing camera angle/perspective is also nice, that makes it more interesting.

Only, it's a shame that this scene is much more blurry than the other scenes. Is this the "final quality"? That's the downside of spreading the episodes online, everything has to be compressed, but there's nothing to do about that of course! But that's just a little comment, you're doing great. Very Happy

The huddle and breakup aren't really clear, and it's hard to tell where all the DRC are running to. Even if they were all running in the same direction, it might help to have a shot that shows them going up the stairs to the palace alcove.

Agreed. Then it would be worth a re-shoot, IMO.

Alrighty. We'll do a re-shoot. We could also get Ashtar to add the barriers over by the palace steps as well.

Erik, you are correct - this is not final release quality. We kept the production discussions for Episodes 0 and 1 private and didn't post those to the public, but I wanted to try a lmore open approach with Episode 2, so you haven't seen how this process works until now. I often shrink previews down to a lower resolution and quality, like 320x240 or 512x384. The final movie will be released in high quality 640x480.

Looks good Marten! I agree with Saxy that with the scene as it is, most people won't notice Engberg heading off in the wrong direction. They might notice Marie taking her time and walking though... he he Wink

Right, Rils and Saxy Razz

I see it like this. Oh, it's sooo thrilling!!!
From my view, when they do the gathering, it looks as if
they discuss something very much arcane, as if they're
working out a secret plan and then they're executing it
the shown way, including Michael Engberg running to a
different direction.
I think it is very clear, that all of the others are running
in the direction Victor Laxman was pointing to...

Oh, for me it's brilliant Wink

My shift key didn't stick. Sad I did get running but I guess it isn't captured?

Re-take at 2pm Pacific, Sunday October 22.

I'd like to have the same actors play the same parts now that you've got some experience. It's easier that way Smile

May I also request that all parties interested in this effort, especially participants, read the script? It is posted by Professor Askew earlier in this discussion thread. I've heard a few questions that would be best answered by those individuals reading the script and understanding how the final scene will appear when I've integrated the explorers behind the barriers.

Saxy said she can't make that, though. Is there a morning time that we could all do? I should be ok for attending earlier in the day (not too early, of course).

I'm open to doing earlier... how about this: If you are on this list, PM me times you're available next Sunday. Something more granular than "Morning" - I need something more like "8am to 10am Eastern".

I'll update here.

Professor: 11:45 - 1:15 pm Pacific :D
Saxy: Not available (Edited by Saxy :) )
Ashtar: 11 am - 3pm Pacific
MJ: 11 am - 3 pm Pacific
Myself: 9am - 3pm Pacific

The time is now narrowed to 11 am to 1 pm, a 2 hour stretch. I hope the Professor can make it during that time!

PS: Eleri has asked for some special shots of DRC members and others. If we have time I'll try to accomodate this request during this shoot.

Episode 2 test 3. This is very similar to test 2 but adds opening titles and a few minor editing changes to clarify where some additional footage will be integrated and there's a zoom in on Victor and Laxman at the start. Music is extended over the footage so it's a little less boring, too.

http://marten.treeweasel.com/UntilUru/ep2test3.mov

Now I'm putting my attention on Ep 3 until I get more footage to add to Ep 2.
