As you may have noticed, the main /tree site is in a sorry state.

I'm planning on changing that.

It's a pretty simple task (read: about a day) to migrate the important stuff over and redo the entire thing. All I really need is a design.

Since I stink at design, this can be solved in one of the following ways:

1) Someone from this site can design an HTML prototype (or maybe even just a photoshop one, I'm not terrible at translating those, but HTML would be easiest) and I'll make it work.

2) I can post a request to some freelance boards and drop a couple hundred on a professional design. I don't mind ponying up for a good design if it ends up looking really good and saving us all some time... (although I should really confirm this with Jean...)

Prof was working on a prototype, last I talked to him. I said I'd try my hand at one too but I haven't been able to devote much thought to it yet.

No rush on the /tree/ redesign, by the way. We should have it ready for when the Cavern officially reopens, though.

Yes, I have been playing around with some stuff. I've actually put quite a bit of work into it but I knew all along that none of it might be used. I've just been trying to learn more and more about writing html and css code and this seemed like a practical project to practice on. (Alliteration.) I didn't think the changeover would happen so soon so I've been taking my time and I didn't want to hand anything over until it was completely finished. But, you beat me to it.

I'll come back in a little while after I catch up with some things at work and post some screen shots to give you an idea where I was going with it.

Back soon.

Oh boy! It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma; but perhaps there is a key... Gimme the key, Daedalus!

Woah-is-me... I've been ALL over the GT Forums, and can find nothing... not a hint, nor a clue (at least not to the naked eye).

Please, Daed, give me a key won't you? Pretty please... Razz

*checks his supply and demand chart*

Well lessee. Willing time spent on the website (T) requires a demanding audience that will make use of it, an active TGT, and my own free time.

The more people that are willing to contribute to the site (a) will cause the development of the site to go underway. Divide that by the amount of current TGT involvement in Uru (b) and the free time I have to give to TGT's website (c) and you get a formula similar to the one below:

T = a / (b+c)

So it's simple. The site's gonna take time. If you guys want it, you *all* have to hound me about it. Then you have to be active enough in Uru and on the forums to make the site usable (content). Right now I do not see a high demand (even from TGT) for site content or the new features that have been discussed to merit finishing the site now. There's still a lot of ground to cover in the cavern before we really need the website. The forum does its job pretty well in the meantime.

I agree. A new site would be really nifty, but I think we need a bit more direction and activity in the cavern before we do that. And that means we all have to be a bit more motivated. And motivation will come naturally as things start to escalate and get more exciting. It'll all happen when it's/we're ready for it to happen. Cool
