I don't know why I posted that here. I should have posted it in this thread instead. But it's here now. Smile

So... about mirror sites, what is the prevaling opinion? Which way is the wind blowing?

(And I'm sure that either Daed or Cyc could make better QT and WMP icons than I did. I just ripped those out of my taskbar.)

Fine by me!

What's the Dutch word for "Dutch"? The other languages are in their own language...

wow, that sounds intelligent...

Don't know the Dutch word for their own language yet. That's there as an example, if we expand translations (no guarantees on that - right now, the problem is in the way I'm using Adobe Premiere to accomplish multiple language versions, and an apparent oversight by Adobe to consider this use. The workflow design is suboptimal).

I was also wondering if each episode might have space for "extra links" (not reflected above). For example, a link to the DRC report about Phil's disappearance, and a link to Dr. Greer's report, would be appropriate materials for those who want to know more about the events behind Episode 1. Oh, and perhaps links to the original chat logs as well.

Unfortunately, this starts to really complicate the page design. My design that I gave above is intended for a script-less download page where users choose the mirror they want. A round-robin scripted download system that ferries people off to mirrors sequentially would permit for more mirrors and use less space on the page, perhaps providing for these extras I'm talking about.

I trust people will be able to build connections between the videos, the chat logs, and accounts of the events all on their own. Let's keep it simple.

Let me put it this way:

Even I don't have the foggiest idea where I would look for Dr. Greer's report, from which Zardoz learned about Phil.

I still don't know where to look.

A "report" doesn't sound like something I'd find on the DRC forums....

You know, I do like the idea of gathering a tidy set of links to relevant information about specific events, but I think it's something we could cover with our website content. That would give some more, valuable info to offer on the site, and it would keep the media page pretty and simple.

We could make a "Relevent Docs" or "Relevent Links" section in which we could put source material. Or just call it "Documentary Sources".

Ep Zero:
.....
.....

Episode 1:
(link to) Greer Report
(link to) Zardoz/phend chatlog
(link to) other chatlogs

Episode 2:
(link to) chatlog 1, 2, etc

It would be like a bibliography, or footnotes. "For more information, see ..." You could put links in for anything deemed relevent to that episode - particular drc posts, pictures, etc; you wouldn't need to limit it to just the chatlogs used for the scripts.

Oh whoops, double posting... Embarassed

I asked Veralun (who's Dutch) and was told that their word for the Dutch language is "Nederlands". (Nederlands:Dutch::Deutsch:German::Francais:French etc) I guess that would do the trick, Erik can probably verify...
