I'd like to add some copy to the top of the media page describing the documentaries. Anyone have any ideas about what to say?

My thought is to start with our stance:
Quote:
Members of the Great Tree are dedicated to the Restoration of D'ni.

We infuse the Cavern with new life, sharing with our fellow Explorers the ideal of self-determination and an innate sense of wonder.

In the spirit of cooperation, we share with all Explorers, regardless of station, affiliation or persuasion, our knowledge of the past and hope to provide an active role in the present and a voice in deciding the future.

The Great Tree of Possibility is our symbol. And we are all a part of it.

Then, maybe a short blurb about how Yeesha's journey reminds us to not forget the lessons of the past, and that we have dedicated ourselves to ensure that the lessons of Prologue are not forgotten. Professor Askew can put it more eloquently than I.

I think the videos speak for themselves. Maybe a quick summary of the "disclaimer" at the end of Episode 1, you know, the one that goes:

"These events from Uru Prologue have been recreated as accurately as possible.

"Volunteers replace the roles of explorers who could not represent themselves."

Personally I don't believe we need any more than that.

EDIT: Marten you posted while I was writing this. Hinting at our intended goals in a short blurb would be a very good idea.

Cyc, I like your original idea. Short and simple. I'd rather just present them for what they are and entice people to learn more...

Personally, I like to trust people to figure out our message and intents on their own, but for the most part, the general trend in videos produced by explorers in the Cavern has been... rather consequence-free. Our documentary project obviously has goals and may have consequences. Hopefully good ones! I'd personally like that fact to be clear in our presentation.

Maybe we could just let this first episode and the next few episodes ride and see if we need to elucidate those goals of ours. So far reactions have been very positive, which I'm surprised at quite frankly. Maybe the majority of explorers are on our side already.

These documentaries were created by the Great Tree. We're presenting them because we like to be passively entertaining. Enjoy!

Um, no? Smile

Dear The Great Tree: I tend to edit my posts a few minutes after I post them. Enjoy this little fact about Cycreim! Perhaps catch me saying something stupid! It's fun!

After speaking with other members, I have concluded that we are all pretty guilty of this.

I am guilty of editing posts obsessively for up to an hour after I post them. Repeatedly. And running afoul of "You can't post again so soon" when I'm just EDITING an exisitng post.

Except moderators can't edit the posts of administrators! Sad

Professor Askew snuck in and wrote:
That's true!! Very Happy

Daedalus usurped and bah - wrote:
TOO true. Twisted Evil

Moiety Jean jumped on that bandwagon and wrote:
Lawdy lawdy, how true it is!
