Great job guys!
Loving the logo and new colour scheme! Especially the logo.
I actually rather like light text on dark backgrounds its less like trying to read something written on a lightbulb.

eeeee! I was referenced, if only for my stealing of Calvin & Hobbes. Sweet!

About those jackets...
Actually I just thought, think Cyan would let us set up a cafepress shop? Wouldn't mind owning some things with the GT logo on them. |

Wow, this is pretty darned cool. Needs juuuuuust a leeetle more contrast between background and text, (my old eyes) but otherwise it looks great! _________________ What a wonderful thing it is to spend time with people who aren't obligated to be there, either. |

The inverted orange buttons irks me slightly, I'm not exactly sure why. Partly I think we could make them look a little more original. I get nitpicky about this sort of thing. :/
Anyway I made a few buttons in the same shape as the regular ones but based on the Great Tree circle design. You know, just to be different.
I did like the orange... hmm. _________________ KI: 34353

Yes, I have to agree they're rather appealing. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Yeah the buttons were a 1-hour job this morning. I agree -- not liking them much. I had a monochrome theme sample that I was going to revert to...
I'm digging the ones you got there, Cyc.
EDIT: They're up. What font are you using? |

I'm using good ol' Futura! Daedalus, I can save you some trouble and go through the icons and make the rest of 'em, since I have the photoshop file all mocked up. Unless you want to do this stuff yourself and get more control over the details.
Something's still bothering me about the buttons anyway. They're too contrasty. They're the same hues as the logo, but I think they'd look better if I grabbed the colours from the interface instead. _________________ KI: 34353 |

I kinda like the buttons as they are, Cyc.
they provide a nice compliment to the Logo, and help to point out that the buttons are sort of an extension of the logo.
I mean, if you monkey too much with the colors, you risk folks saying "What's with the squiggles on those buttons?"
But if it's clear that the buttons match the Logo, people will more likely say, "Oh, WOW! who is the froody web designer who matched the buttons to the logo? That guy must really know where his towel is at."
Or... something like that. _________________ KI 182798

Making tiny changes here and there. Working on whole new stuff for the little new post indicators. |

Daed I was making new post indicators but they look nearly identical to yours. Little leaves and everything. It's nuts.
Here they are anyway!
I also updated the buttons a bit. I just overwrote the old files so my previous post should be updated with the new images. Do a hard refresh if they're not showing up. _________________ KI: 34353 |

Haha! Nice. I'll have to try both out later tomorrow to see what works, unless Brian wants to try them out. We probably should have planned who's doing what, but options are always good. |
