That's what I heard as well that it was some kind of meditation chamber. Seeing as they believed in a Maker and called him/her Yavo, had temples, the King would have a prophetess that would guide him it seems logical to me. For it to be an egg, its such an archetypal symbol of birth, I just can't see them having it purely for aesthetic reasons. |
