It looks like the Donations are rolling in! Thanks to those who have sent donations so far. I'll post a list when I get back home this evening, but I believe we are pretty close to our goal already. Like I mentioned though, if there is anything over the amount needed for the pizza's, it will go to the Professor for the Cyan jackets, or to something else for the Cyan employees. Maybe soft drinks during the pizza fest Smile It's great that we can show our appreciation for the enjoyment Cyan has provided over the years with their games and stories.

Hey Ashtar, sorry to have missed you, too. I will just hand over some $$ when I see you. Thanks to all of you!!! Exclamation

Just so you know, I'm planning on sending you $5 or so, but I'm waiting for my bank account to be confirmed and all that jazz.

The Great Tree members are certainly wonderful, but you knew that already Smile We are already almost at our $150 with $98 that others have sent in so far, plus the $25 I will donate, and a couple of promised contributions. So far, here is the list of donators:

Moon
Professor Askew
Mystlander
Kehrin
Aahz
CuzinJohn
Farlesis
MsLorene

It should be a blast, and I'll be sure to take pictures for the rest of the group. Hopefully, Rand Miller, Bill Slease, Ryan, and some of the people we all know will be there when we have the party.

I want to donate, but I'm having issues with my PayPal account... might have to ditch it and make a new one. I'll get it to you asap.

I don't have a PayPal account, I'm not going to sign up for one, and I'd like an address to which I can mail a good old standard personal check.

Ashtar, how are we doing on the donations for pizza day at Cyan? Please let us know if you need more...

Farlesis, is our message ready to be delivered along with the pizzas? Please let us know if you need help...

Professor, do you think we'll be able to deliver the Great Tree Jacket to Doug Sharper on the same day as the pizzas?

Well I decided I would write the letter in D'ni, of course not realising the limited choice of words at the time. Certain words in D'ni aren't available like Cyan and Forum, so I've used the word Tehl which means Guild. But here's what I've written in D'ni:

Quote:
b'bihvfah t'Cyan

Meht ikhah nijuhts tahgeht b'tee t'erth bigto, mereh Tehrpahrah Tehl khreh Uru. Khehkahm l'ahrtahehm gah kahm boahrtahehm, chehv shehm.

r'lehnah bokehn tsahno

shorah b'shehmtee.

which translates into:

Quote:
To Everyone at Cyan

This food we give to you all as a blessing from the Great Tree Guild for Uru. For what you have done, and what you will do, thank you.

The Journey will be eternal

Peace to you all

let me know what you all think. I can just see RAWA reading this and shaking his head in shame Laughing

What a wonderful letter Farlesis, and just perfect. Now were you planning on writing the letter in the D'ni script font? That would make the folks at Cyan have to work for it a bit more. I don't imagine there are that many there that can actually read/write the D'ni language Smile

As to the pizza party, we have more than enough donations now to give them a nice party. But if you still want to donate just to participate, then you may still do so. If I can't use all of the money on the pizza's, soda's, etc. then the rest will go to the professor for the jackets.

Right now I'm in Seattle this week on business, so I'll post an updated list of donators when I get back home.

Great letter, Far. It really captures the spirit of the thing.

I don't suppose we know the D'ni phrase for "Work faster or I'll beat you and your family with an exceptionally large horseradish." Wink
