.shorah

It's time again to decide where to hold this year's Mysterium. To help us, an informal poll recently asked potential Mysterium attendees where they'd like to see Mysterium 2005 held. Using that information, we have compiled a list of the top six locations. If you think that you may attend Mysterium, please take a moment to fill out our survey at http://home.wi.rr.com/scraper/Mysterium/2005Survey.html by November 15, 2004.

Thanks for your help!

I filled it out, but I didn't understand what she meant by 'group', so I just put a ? by it. Hopefully the e-mail address (valid) and a city is all I needed to send.

I put "The Great Tree" for the group not knowing what else to put. I also voted for San Jose because it's the closest to Sacramento.

If we vote for San Jose, will you put us all up at your place, Daed?

I was all ready to vote for San Jose, until I realised Seattle was one of the options. Now I'm torn.

(In a smooth, hypnotic voice...) San Jose... San Jose... Look into my eyes... San Jose... Whoa! Nearly put myself to sleep. As much as I love Seattle, San Jose is more cost efficient for me. So vote San Jose!

Where've the Mysteriums been so far? First one was in Mead. Was the second one there as well? I know there was one in New Mexico, and one in Canada, right? There haven't been many on the east coast, I don't think, which is difficult for those of us who haven't been able to make it to multiple Mysteriums because of distance problems.

Hmm, that'd be pretty nice--not too far away from my general area. Kinda more 'in the middle'. I get the feeling that, when tallying the votes, if it were, say 41% west coast cities, 39% east coast, 10% central U.S., Scraper & co. might just go for west coast because it had the highest percentage, y'know? We'll see, I guess.

Mysterium 2000 - Spokane, WA
Mysterium 2001 - Carlsbad, NM
Mysterium 2002 - Philadelphia, PA (due to the high number of people asking for the east coast)
Mysterium 2003 - Spokane, WA (back by popular demand)
Mysterium 2004 - Toronto, ON, Canada (community vote)

The process for deciding a location for Mysterium this year and last year is pretty simple. First, we ask the community for suggestions. We check all the suggestions to determine the top five or six choices. Then we put up a poll so that you (the community) can vote on your top choice. All the votes are tallied, and the city with the most votes wins. We don't decide where Mysterium is held when we use this method... we merely take the pulse of the community and abide by the results of the poll. We certainly don't combine all the "west coast" votes or anything like that, because that would not be an accurate reflection of what the community wants. Our job as the Mysterium Committee is to serve the community.

Hope this clears up some of your questions.

Yeah, definitely. They weren't so much questions as concerns, actually. I didn't realize there'd been one in Pennsylvania.

Looking at the list, it looks like we're due for a southwest coast Mysterium (nudge nudge, wink wink)
