I went back to the Path of the Shell today, to do a little flying around and picture taking. I wanted to get some good shots of the Great Tree. The chamber in which it sits is really impressive to watch, as it cycles from day to night, with the clouds and starry background.

But then I decided to go back to some of the To D'ni content, in particular, Phil's Relto, for a few pictures... and I found something I hadn't noticed before.

When I had last visited Phil's Relto, in the To D'ni expansion pack, I had noticed that he had a full bookshelf. We all noticed that, didn't we?

But in Path of the Shell, Phill's bookshelf has the Path of the Shell books in the appropriate places, including the MYST linking book.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Marten, can you clarify the difference a little bit? I'm sorry, I didn't quite follow you. You said in "To D'ni" you saw a full bookcase and in tPotS you saw Path of the Shell books.......?

The Path of the Shell books (Watcher's Sanctuary, Er'cana, Ahnonay Cathedral, Ahnonay, and MYST) *replaced* the nondescript books that were in the same positions in Phil's bookcase.

When we played To D'ni, there was no indication - no spoiler - in Phil's bookcase that we would reach MYST in Path of the Shell.

Upon returning in PotS, however, the MYST book stands out like a sore thumb.

LOL Professor you must remember to take the Centrum Silver Wink

That's a good find Marten and for me that confirms Phil continues his journey and goes wherever the path takes him.

Hmmmmm... After reading Marten's thread, I decided to re-visit Phil's Relto in TPOtS. Low and behold, Phil's bookshelf is still completely filled with books! Marten, did we get different versions of the same game?

While I don't have the Complete Chronicles, I did purchase and play URU: The Path of the Shell.

Arrrrrgh! That's twice now.

I did NOT say that the bookshelf was NOT still filled with books!

Allow me to quote myself, with some emphasis added:

[Edit] OK, here. Here is a picture from XP1 of the bookshelf, grabbed from UruObsession. http://www.uruobsession.com/?imagepage=xPhil%202
Right away, even in that dark picture, you can see that the book to the right of the Nexus book has a red binding.

BUT... when we begin the Path of the Shell, that book position contains a blue book with a wavy pattern, as seen here:
http://www.uruobsession.com/?imagepage=x2Relto%20w4

If you return to Phil's Relto in Path of the Shell, you will see that he too now has a blue book with a wavy pattern in that position! He still has a full bookshelf... but the books that occupy the PotS book positions have been replaced by the appropriate PotS books.
