Another date to ponder. In The Path of the Shell it says that The Great Tree was built in the early 2000's DE. Going through the timeline and mentioned in the King Documents on King Me'erta, The Temple of the Tree was finally built in 1843 DE and in 1999 De his mother Jolatha stole books from the Tomb of the Great King and placed them in the Temple of the Tree. I'm just wondering is The Great Tree that we see in the Path of the Shell the same place that once was The Temple of the Tree? The Watcher's Sanctuary wasn't built until the late 4000's DE. |

As far as I know the area where the Great Tree is is the Watcher's Sanctuary. I think the Temple of the Tree is another place altogether, unrelated but perhaps holding some vein of purpose. |

I remember a note somewhere mentioning that the Watcher's Sanctuary was some sort of pub area, so I imagined that the Great Tree Pub might in fact be this place. Not too sure on that though. |

Daedalus, you may be right about this. It was my understanding that the Great Tree pub was located in the J'Taeri (sp?) district which was why we couldn't visit it in Live. And why we couldn't leave the area in tPotS.
The only wrinkle is Sharper never mentioned the Watcher's Sanctuary...and it looked like a pretty heavy-duty assignment for the DRC to assign to good, old Doug. Perhaps Doug's pub was in the same area as this. More of a stand-alone place not connected to the Tree......hmmm. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Maybe the DRC never thought Sharper would solve the path of the shell, and hence gave him the responsibility of working with it.
Remember where you found the Great Tree jacket... |

Excellent point. I believe that may clinch it. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Yeeeee Haaaaa... I found the entry in Sharper's Journal!
He refers to the DRC giving him the Pub in J'Taeri, where ever that is... _________________ URU Live KI #: 50911 MOULa KI #11697212

That district is farther up in the Ae'gura. The same is said about the Watcher's Sanctuary (in J'Taeri). Doesn't quite confirm it, but it does suggest that they are the same location. |
