I've been holding on to this for a while, but I figure I can let loose now.

So, I went on a trip to Cyan last month. I signed my life away in a giant NDA but I can tell you that I did get to play PotS. I got to see quite a bit of it, actually.

From what I saw,

it rocks.

The story is MUCH more involved than To D'ni. I got to see a bunch of the puzzles and even solved some of them and they are very engaging and interesting. There are some that will eat your brain, though, so be careful.

The new ages are awesome. I don't want to give any spoilers but there are some deep connections. The scenery is every bit as good as you could imagine, and for the most part everything just fits in very well with the story.

To summarize, it just makes sense. It manages to recapture the spirit of Prime. I'm anxious to get my hands on it again and dive in. I only got to scratch the surface before.

Wish I could say more, but... NDA.

(P.S. - Thanks GD)

Well, color me jealous.

You rock Brian!

Thanks for sharing what the NDA allowed you to. It was just enough to make the rest of us drool in anticipation.

Well, maybe not ALL of us... but I know that I'm drooling. Cool

Me too, although that might partially be because of the doughnut I just ate Smile

July can't get here fast enough, really.

Well, I may not have a way into Cyan, but I am typically patient.

I preordered my PotS from Amazon, so I guess I'll have to wait until it arrives.

Wow! Didn't know you'd planned a trip to Cyan, but happy to know what little you could share with us.

Any chance that Cyan added a Peer-to-Peer feature, so we can gather in small groups and play POTS together... hmmmmmmm?

Thanks for the report, Brian! Will you be able to tell more after TPOTS launches? It would be fun to hear about who you talked to at Cyan, and all that sort of thing.

July 7th. Download. 12 days and counting. I don't know where that download is going to be hosted, but wherever it is, they'd better be prepared for the onslaught!

Smile

Yeah, I guess I can talk more about PotS after it launches, but that would probably be it as far as what I saw goes. I did get to meet just about everyone there, though, which was really cool. Had some fun conversations with Rand and Ryan and Ryan and Bill and others about Live and how the story progressed and how much of it was driven by the explorers and things like that.

Got to go on a coffee walk with GD and Bill and some other devs which was fun. Very interesting cleft-like scenery on the way.

I used to be able to talk for hours about all of this stuff, but I'm at the stage where it's fading. Lots of good memories, lots of difficult memories..
