Episode 7: Kidnapped! is now available. Feel free to post announcements at all forums!

Here's the English announcement again:
Quote:
The past and rediscovery of D'ni.
Zardoz finding Phil Henderson in Eder Kemo.
Phil avoiding confrontation with the DRC.
Brian organizing disgruntled explorers.
A Relto page appearing out of nothingness.
Douglas Sharper departing to take the Journey.
Victor Laxman seeking explorer interest in the Great Zero.

These histories we have told. More history we will tell.

Today, explorer support for the D'ni Restoration Council is strong despite the DRC's weakened state. Many of the Gathered seek guidance. They feel helpless without direction from an established authority. But look within yourselves, and ask if you are making the right choice. What might you sacrifice to accomplish your goal? Alone or together, decide. The truth is there, shining inside of you. Whether you have forgotten... or if you have joined the Gathered in this past year... Learn from the past, or be doomed to repeat its mistakes.

Now, The Great Tree takes you back to December 15, 2003, so that the events of this day are not lost to eternity. We humbly submit to you our latest Prologue Documentary: Kidnapped!

Available in high quality Windows and Macintosh formats, in five languages: Dutch, English, French, German, and Italian at http://www.thegreattree.com/media/ . Also available in a lightweight streaming format (English-only) from Cavern Communication Network's CavernCast: http://caverncast.libsyn.com/ .

Thanks Annick!

I have a question about your announcement in French. When I use google to translate it back, it says:

Quote:
We are submitting to you, in all humility, our last episode in the prologue: Kidnapped!

Maybe this is an error in Google's translation; this is the most recent episode, our latest episode, but it won't be the last episode. Smile

Google could just be making a confusing word choice there, since in some contexts "last" does mean "most recent."

@ Marten

The"last"episode in French means also the"most recent".

I made a change : "le dernier épisode en date". It will be more explicit.

Do you prefer ?

@ Marten

The"last"episode in French means also the"most recent".

If It was "the last episode", I would write : "Le dernier des épisodes". ( The last one of the episodes)

I made a change : "le dernier épisode en date". It will be more explicit.

Do you prefer ?

Just watched the final version of this episode, and after all those
test pieces lol, I feel reminded on the fact, that you're an awesome
film producer, Marten ...

The whole assembly, the graphics, the music and everything is
sooo excellent... I also love the different always fitting facial expressions,
the large variety of characters, even if there are only two standard
avies (ok, that's Cyan, but you choose the scenes and best cuts), and
the perfect use of camera angles/pannings to create and influence the
atmosphere, really, I'm absolutely amazed... Very Happy

And I admire your talent for improvisation, regarding the
threatening scenes etc.... Yeah, it was great to watch a high-class
piece of video like that after a long time... /cheer /cheer /cheer

The Dutch wmv file seems corrupted. It plays fine, but you can't rewind or forward and you can't point it to a certain moment, and Windows refuses to create a thumbnail for it.

Edit: I only had the german movie file and I'm just downloading
the wmv file... the file size of the german version is 74,3 MB and
the dutch file is 34,7 MB only... Razz

Ok, watched the german video (how wonderful!!!) and everything's fine... Very Happy

Thanks Erik & Jana.

Note, that these files are randomly selected from one of two sites.

On treeweasel.com:
69087232 Nov 14 12:42 Ep7_Nederlands.mov
78010319 Nov 14 12:57 Ep7_Nederlands.wmv

On fioca.com, I found this:
36387696 Nov 14 19:04 Ep7_Nederlands.wmv
69087232 Nov 15 05:17 Ep7_Nederlands.mov

I have re-uploaded the WMV file from treeweasel.com to fioca.com so that both sites are synchronized. Please let me know if you discover any other problems.
