Martin, I too think you were misled. It also sounds like the benefits are really poor. Also, I'd really hate your commute. Especially with the gas prices nowadays.

I'm also looking for a new job. Right now I work eight to nine months out of the year. I really like what I do, fixing printers, monitors, and PC's. But the three to four months off is killing me financially.

Anyway, good luck on getting a new job.

Did I fix the thread? Laughing

Right now I hope Eleri was alright Confused

Right now... well today the Scottish First Minister announced a "white paper" (the first step in the policy process) about holding a referendum asking the people of Scotland if they want to negotiate an end to the 300 year old Union with England. Shocked

I assume it wouldn't be as dramatic as when y'all over there in the States got your independence but it should make for an interesting era for politics over here.

Wow, that is big news, Dan. Is this something that comes up every couple of years and is tossed aside or is this really something new and exciting for Scotland?

Its been an issue in Scotland for about 70 years now but its never seemed like a serious possibility till now. This is the first time we've ever had an SNP (Scottish Nationalist Party) led government and they are the only party which support independance (the others all have their origins down at Westminister in London so they are completly opposed to it). In fact the other three major parties are threatening to create a coalition against the proposal.

If the North Sea oil wasn't so close to running out then this would have the possibility of turning violent, as it stands we're in for a whole lot of political bickering.

Right now I wouldn't overestimate this... Very Happy

Fact is :
A spokesman for Mr. Salmond said: (all quoted from News.scottsman.com)
Quote:
"Our first 100 days' commitment also includes the publishing of a white paper on independence,
which will serve as the basis for a national conversation with the people of Scotland" .

and
Quote:
Speaking to the BBC during a visit to London, Mr Salmond conceded that the minority SNP Executive
"had some persuading to do" to win a majority vote at Holyrood...

Here you can find some more interesting statements. This one is also interesting...

At least there will be more extended powers and more autonomy exercised
by the Scottish parliament and executive maybe... but I don't see a full independence yet...

Right now, I'm making sure this is the Right Now thread and not some other thread D:

Right now, I'm interested in what's going to happen with Scotland. I didn't know there was an independence movement going on, but I'm going to watch this with interest. You guys are going to have an easier time of it than Taiwan is though, that's for sure.

Right now, I hope the Homestar guys turn Sweet Puttin' Cakes into a playable web game!

Right now, I'm almost past Erik's pellet score on the imager! Now I just need to beat Jana's score that she hasn't posted yet... Twisted Evil

EDIT: Fixed the link that was broken Razz

Right now it's not a game, it's just something in a cartoon, but I hope it doesn't stay that way!

Would you believe it was a slow day at work, too?!?

Really crazy was last week, when we had 2 groups in the back, (about 35 kids) another group on the way, about a half a dozen customers in the front, and a little girl sliced her finger open on scissors.

Eleri's crisis training went into full gear on that one. Wheeeooo!

Right now, Eleri, I know you're a very strong-minded, resolute and
wonderful soul and you're sensitive and sweet as well... Razz
Your employer and everybody associated with you can consider oneself
lucky to have you around... Very Happy

Maybe I also realize what you're telling (me or anybody) with that...
but sorry, I have too much compassion for almost everybody/everything...
this is not always appropriate and very helpful... but sometimes
I get tired of destroying illusions... sometimes it just happens,
then it's ok and sometimes I'm asking myself if I have the right to do so...
You're great Very Happy
