Believe it or not.....I'm voting Atrus.

If Esher is the "survivor" on Noloben, and he's the same twisted man Sharper discovered, I seriously doubt he's the one Phil is referring to.

I can't believe it's Watson. No matter what he's been through, I can't imagine it would warrant heralding by Phil.

Engberg? Nah.

Calam is dead.

It can't be someone we don't know because Phil would have no reason to allude to it.

And returning? To D'ni?

Assuming Myst V the game is at all accurate, and I am for this example, then we can believe Atrus is alive and well on Releeshan. (Although we can't be sure he's well with the black Bahro cloud looming overhead.) He would certainly have an interest in D'ni's future. He wouldn't want to see a second Fall.

Something to ponder.

I rather enjoyed the speculations pointing to Ahlsendar.. but since Tricia Issacson's "translations" have finally been proven unofficial, I guess there's no specific reason to expect it to be the Great King other than the fact that it'd be cool.

But "They will come, he will come, and I will come as well".. I think that means Bahro come first, the "he" Phil referred to second, and finally Yeesha.

Ah, Pronoun Trouble.

There's still another "he."

Phil said at the end:
phend wrote:
I will return soon, but he will return later.
... with more answers.

I'm almost certain (and I'm not alone - same theory has been mentioned by others, Great Minds Think Alike) that "he" means the "another" who helped to free the Bahro.

And I think Atrus, if he's still around, has his hands full on Releeshahn.

It's going to be Watson or even possibly Engberg... because I have reason to believe Engberg tried.

Phil did say the Bahro were in Releeshahn. He must have been there so, it could be Atrus...

::EDIT:: Could someone PM me with Phils KI number?

If Watson (or Engberg) are the "he", then we were not privy to their contribution to freeing the Bahro, therefore we aren't able to make an educated guess. Which is fine, I like surprises. But, I think it would have been much more exciting to have Watson return and herald Phil rather than the reverse. So, I'm keeping my money on Atrus. Wink

Hmmm....Atrus....interesting. Is there a possibility that he is still alive? Or even Catherine for that matter? What could they possibly bring to the Cavern? No disrespect either.

I think Catherine was implied to be dead in Myst V.. Atrus' voiceover says he lost his wife. I'm assuming, canon-wise, this VO is taken from some sort of actual manuscript Atrus wrote, so I'd say Catherine is probably dead.

Nobody's suggesting Kadish? Kadish has been at the periphery of all this business for a long time. He may be dead, but he was alive at the time of the Fall, and somehow it feels like that's significant. Plus Yeesha has "saved his life", his body no longer dwells in the vault, etc. It's not evidence, but it's really opens up the possibility.

Watson could very well return, but I don't know what he'd know that Phil couldn't tell us. He might have answers from a historical perspective.

Engberg hasn't been gone long enough, he probably hasn't sorted out all his demons yet...

I think we're looking at someone who's going to be very important to the future of D'ni. As much as I like Phil, I don't think he's the He that Yeesha spoke about. This He will wield as much power and influence as the Bahro (they) and Yeesha (I). Watson and Engberg, I don't believe they're that person. Atrus, in his old age, if he's even still alive, likely wouldn't be that person either.

Kadish on the other hand... he was Guild Master. And we've just begun to reinstate the guilds.

I dunno. Circumstances seem to be pointing in a very Kadish direction.

I personally don't really see it being Kadish. I always felt that Kadish was sort of a caricature - a symbol of the entire D'ni fall condensed into one proud, arrogant figure. Therefore, Yeesha's "resurrection" of him is symbolic of her burden to grow or resurrect D'ni, and not so much a storyline event as it were.

I think I'm changing my vote to Kadish. Someone brought his name up last night in the Cavern. Things DO seem to point to him given our previous experiences. In fact, I should have thought of him before. Frankly, I'm a little embarrassed. Embarassed

Dr. Watson is my first guess, with Engberg on no. 2.

I don't think Kadish or Ahlsendar is the "he". We know now that Myst V has been very accurate and I think there's only one explanation for that: Cyan Worlds must have got a detailed account from the "he". And it seems very unlikely to me that Kadish or Ahlsendar contacted Cyan.

I tend to second everything Cycreim has stated...

...and I also tend to believe what is stated here, that's the translation of Tricia I.
...I would even go so far to believe that Kadish could be Ahlsendar...

As of Atrus additional I'd like to link to the ending of Myst V, that tells me somehow,
that it couldn't be him, that his commission is done...
(as we don't have any spoiler tags here, I avoid quotations)

I still couldn't figure out anything by reading the "Words" of the Maker...

This is all very speculative, of course, but I vote for Kadish Very Happy

Cate Alexander made clear that that Tricia was an imposter a few days ago. Wink

That's not really a reason for me not to believe it Wink

But however, that anyway just counts as a side note,
one "for me" possible argument, so my vote remains the same Very Happy

(OOC: Greydragon posted at UO that Tricia is just a fan making things up.)
