I've reserved my spectator spot.

Interesting that there were 3 people ahead of me in the Great Tree 'hood spectator list, none of whose names I recognize... while other hoods still have 0 spectators.

The menu for the St. Pat’s parade is an authentic Irish fare.
We are doing a “round robin” or
Progressive Dinner

As I get the menus created for each hood, I will post them for your enjoyment

Wine/Cheese Spread will be served in Game Boomers Hood
Vintage Cheese Tart
Dubliner Irish Cheese
Kerry Gold Irish Vintage Cheddar
Elderflower Wine
Ginger Wine

All food will be prepared and delivered ahead of time and ready to set out after the parade. A keg of Guinness and Ginger Beer and a case of Bailey’s Irish Cream and Irish Whisky is scheduled to be delivered to each hood, if you feel you will need more, please let me know early enough to get it ordered.

Please feel free to visit all of the hoods and enjoy a complete Irish meal. Non alcoholic beverages will be supplied in each hood. Ginger Beer is a Root Beer type drink and will be available in all hoods. I have tried to come up with an enjoyable selection to choose from, eat hearty. I do not like left overs and will not be crating this food back up to store so you will have to eat it all.

The coordinators are as follows:

The Meeding place........darkstar
UruObsession...............T'layeh
The Institution..............RustyRussell
GameBoomers..............Dudemom2000
The Great Tree.............Mystlander

Those wishing to view the parade as Spectators can sign up here: http://stpats.hoikas.com/spectator.php
Please Note.....again you do not have to be a member of the Host Hoods to view from one of the hoods of your choice.

We are still looking for anyone who would like to join the D'ni Guard. The Guard will act as excorts to the Grand Marshal and Aide to the GM during the event. If you are interested in joining this elite unit please contact TS_Kimball on the UO forum. You can also contact J'mee on the UO forum. Time is running out so please Join Now.....Following your duties as excorts for the Grand Marshal, you will be able to sit back and enjoy the party along with the rest of us. Please enjoy a sample of what Mari has in store for us....

As I have said...Time is running out Only 9 days left before the event so come one come all and let's make this the greatest event ever. Remember, You Don't Have To Be Irish To Wear Green and have some fun. Traditionally, this event has been more of a Celebration of Uru and the Community than what the title suggests.

IMPORTANT CHANGE IN TIME FOR DRESS REHERSAL: The time has been moved up an hour....so rehearsal will begin tomorrow, Saturday March 10th at 12 noon EST

St. Pat’s Parade Dress Rehearsal

Dress Rehearsal will be tomorrow, Saturday March 20th beginning at 12noon.EST. The order of marching and
the time has been changed because I was informed that The Meeting Place Hood has many members from the West Coast and to have them march in the beginning would be difficult for those from that area. I understand that the Great Tree also has many members from the West Coast. I would like to allow those from Europe to march first because of the Time Zone they live under. So the marching order will be as follows….

1. The German NULP Hood
2. The Institution Hood
3. Uru Obsession Hood
4. GameBoomers Hood
5. The Great Tree Hood
6. The Meeting Place Hood

Mari and I will act as Rand and GreyDragon and will link in and be met by the Guardsmen and will take the Grand Marshal’s and Aide’s place leading the parade. Everyone should be in position and prepared to march when Mari and I link in. Once there a hood member should be prepared to go to the nexus and make the hood private. Though it might be a good idea to test the link in lag during the March practice and not make the hood private. The Guardsmen will be at the foot of the right staircase prepared to meet Mari and I as we link in. They will salute and come to the link in spot and escort us up the stairs to the front of the parade and take their spot behind us.

Hood Coordinators are asked to time the March and Mari and I will time the linkin’s. Hood Coordinators are also asked to take a head count (including Spectators). We will need to get an approximate time the entire parade will take.

I had hoped that we could run through on TeamSpeak but Eric is setting up a new server and it’s not ready as yet. He is also setting up IceCast to stream music during the march. J’nathus has replaced Lord Chaos (who’s time is limited and he’s unable to make meetings or the rehearsal). J’nathus will be working with Eric to get this all set up…Fingers and toes crossed. Apparently Ashtar’s server doesn’t have enough bandwidth for this event. His ShoutCast will only allow for about 50 people to listen in. Hopefully this will go well but for the Dress Rehearsal we will be without music. Sorry about this inconvenience.

As each hood completes their March…they should link to the Parade hood and line up on the bridge to the bookroom. I’d like to test capacity of that finish line hood and determine what kind of lag Rand and GreyDragon will experience linking in. Once Mari and I link in and get to the pedestal platform, everyone should move to the community room where Rand will address everyone.

NOTE: We may need someone to toggle the hoods to keep them public so those who are not members are able to link in.

Good Luck and Thank You One and All

SG

Well I signed up to be a spectator and will be there to cheer you on Smile What would be nice is if someone could get it touch with Sharper and see if he would like to march with the Great Tree. Now that would be most excellent.

IS TOMORROW AND THE DAY OF THE BIG EVENT!!!!!!!
THE 3rd ANNUAL D'NI ST. PATRICKS PARADE AND PARTY

Saturday March 17th
Beginning at 1pm EDT
Rand Miller – Grand Marshal
GreyDragon – Aide to Grand Marshal

_____________________________________________________

Parade will march through 5 selected host neighborhoods, beginning with the German NUPL Hood ending in the St. Pat’s Parade Hood in the Community Room. All Host Hoods are encouraged to invite the remaining hoods to march along with them. All hoods marching will be announced over TeamSpeak and are encouraged to select a Host Hood of choice and ask to march along with them.

For those who don’t have TeamSpeak they can get it free at: http://www.goteamspeak.com
EricL has made his TS Server available for us and the addy is: shard.urutapestry.us
· Several Channels have been set up on TeamSpeak:
· Each Host hood has set up a special, private hood channel and can communicate with members there.
· A St. Patrick’s Parade Chat channel has been set up for the general public.
· A St. Patrick’s Parade Music channel has been set up.
· A private St. Patrick’s Parade Committee channel for Committee communication.

Host Hoods In Order of Parade March:

1. NULP (German Hood)
2. GameBoomers Hood
3. UruObsession Hood
4. The Great Tree Hood
5. The Meeting Place Hood
6. End point….St. Pat’s Parade Hood with Rand and Party on the platform by the pedestal…..

1. Parade begins at 1pm EDT. NULP members, the D’ni Color Guard, Spectators and Guest Hoods should get there at least a half hour to an hour early to set up and be lined up at the start point by the time Rand and GreyDragon link in. This is important because the hood will be made private once the parade begins and is in progress. Guests will not be able to get to the hood and members are requested on their honor, not to link back until the parade has reached the end point in the hood. If you crash, you can go to the St. Pat’s Parade Hood or a hood of your choice where you can continue to follow the parade on TeamSpeak and party while you wait.
· The hood coordinator will assign a volunteer member to be in the nexus to make the hood private after Rand links in before the parade begins. It would be advisable that this member be a spectator and should be given enough time to return to the hood and take his/her place. The hood can be made once again public when the parade has reached the finish mark. This procedure should be done in all hoods. THE REASON FOR THIS TO ELIMINATE LINK IN FREEZE WHILE THE PARADE IS IN PROGRESS……….
· When the parade reached the finish point there will be a 5 minute delay to allow enough time for the Press people Photographers and the Guard to move to the next hood before Rand moves on to the next Host Hood which should be set up and in place by the time he links in. I ask that, (other then those listed above) you please remain in the hood and do not link to the next hood, so not to over populate the next Host Hood or cause link crashes for Rand with so many linking at the same time. Once the parade has reached the end point, you can remain in your home hood, visit other hoods or come to the St. Pat’s Parade Hood. Hood hopping is encouraged.
· All Host Hoods should send Hood Invites to Rand and Party.
o Note: Following a brief chat with GreyDragon the only confirmed Cyanists to attend are Rand Miller and GreyDragon.

2. The Guard will be near the link-in spot prepared to escort Rand and Party up the right staircase to take their place in front. (If possible at least 2 Guardsmen should be assigned to each hood) The Guard will fall in place behind Rand and Party. Rand will then lead the parade through the hood along the chosen path as shown on the attached map.
§ Note for those who participated last year: Please see map of parade route with slight change. The march will begin by going through the community room from the left side, going around the platform in front of the pedestal, up the stairs on the opposite side exiting the room.

3. The parade concludes by going up the right staircase and ends at the top of the left staircase near the back door of the book room. This procedure will follow through all Host Hoods.
§ The Guard, having finished the march in their assigned hood will then link to the St. Pat’s Parade Hood and take their place on either side of the platform by the pedestal in the community room. Two Guardsmen will be assigned to escort Rand and GreyDragon to the platform.

4. The final destination of the parade will be the St. Pat’s Parade Hood. Following link-in and line up by Rand and GreyDragon, they will proceed up the right staircase to the community room platform by the pedestal, escorted by the Honor Guard.
§ Everyone in the Reception Hood is asked to please not go to the community room until Rand has reached the pedestal and keep his path clear. THE REASON FOR THIS IS TO NOT CAUSE RAND AND GREYDRAGON UNDUE LAG WHILE ON THEIR WAY TO THE COMMUNITY ROOM……Once Rand and Party have reached the platform, everyone is encouraged to go to the community room and meet with Rand and spread out through the hood in various places…..The party now begins. Have fun J

Music and sound will be supplied through TeamSpeak. J’nathus will play March Music during the parade and will Commentate and Announce during the parade. DJ’s are asked not to play their music during the parade. J’nathus will also play music during the party all through the day and night on TeamSpeak.

NOTE: You'll you'll see on the above revised parade instructions, some changes...The Institution Hood will no longer be a Host Hood and anyone from the Institution who still wishes to participate are asked to please go to one of the other Host Hoods and ask to march with them.

Another change is that J'nathus will be doing all sound and music and has done a wonderful job of assembling great music for the event.

For those who are members of the other Host Hoods and who do not wish to participate as marchers or spectators, we are asking you to please not link into the hood while the march is in practice. As members of that hood, we cannot tell you to stay out of your own hood but do ask for your respect for those members marching and please not link in.

Remember to get you computer ready for the event. Defrag....Run SpyBot.....Run your Virus Scan.....Shut down any unnecessary program's and messengers so not to stress your processor or bandwidth.

SO COME ON EVERYONE.......GET OUT THE GREEN.....JOIN IN THE FUN AND DEMONSTRATE HOW THIS GREAT COMMUNITY REALLY IS

SG

Sorry for the double post but I need to add the following....

I neglected to add to the last announcement the area's that are for spectators. We want to keep the parade route clear of others so not to cause lag. The best spots for viewing are.....

The Community Room
The Bridge from the Fountain towards the Bookroom
The Light Garden keeping away from the path leading down from the Bookroom and the stairway up to the Fountain. You can be on either side of that path but not blocking it.

Please keep the Fountain area clear and do not be near the link in spot. We don't want to cause Rand and GreyDragon undue lag linking in. A photographer MAY stand on the top of the fountain but no more than one.

Please try not to move around while the parade is in progress. You may Woot and Cheer but try not to have undue chatter. All this would cause lag. Please be respectful and DO NOT PM Rand or GD. They will be listening to instructions and will not be able to answer you.

Whether you are a Marcher or a Spectator....If you crash during the parade do not try to link back in. Particularly if you are a member of that hood. Just go to the St. Pat's Parade Hood and wait there where the parade will conclude.

Form a line for the stairs near the Fountain leading back across the Bridge to the Bookroom. When Rand and GD enter the D'ni Color Guard will escort them to the Community Room....the music for "Hail to the Chief" will play and that will be your cue to follow them into the room.

Thanks Everyone and have Fun...

D'NI ST. PATRICK'S PARADE AND PARTY.....BEGINNING AT 1PM EDT
COME ONE....COME ALL....AND LET'S HAVE FUN!!!!!!

Irish Blessing

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

May God be with you and bless you:
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings.
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home
And may the hand of a friend always be near.

May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you
