I've been giving this a lot of thought over the last few weeks, so this decision doesn't come lightly. I think it's time for me to follow a new path other than the Great Tree so I hereby submit my resignation.

There are many reasons, some having to do with it's current philosophy, others with just myself personally. I find that I'm happiest when I'm helping new explorers or just having fun with the game. So I may find myself joining UO or becoming a Greeter. I do enjoy the storyline part of the game, but I have my own views on how things should go in the cavern and sometimes they are not always compatible with the views of the Great Tree. And I'm not speaking of the Kodama incident, but other things that has happened since Live was announced and we progressed to the open beta.

Concerning the shards, l'll rename them so that there is no confusion on our affiliation. Lately I've been interested in helping the Age Builders so I'll probably associate the shards along those lines of interest. Marten and the GT group is still welcome to use them at any time for the documentary project and I'll still be happy to provide any special support.

It's been great knowing all of you these past few years and I wish you the best of luck as we continue in the renewed restoration. Keep in touch.

I'm really sorry to see you go, Ash. I feel personally responsible for this somehow... have things gotten out of hand while I've been gone?

Wow Ashtar, it's sad to see such an establish member exit the group, but I'm happy you were able to make this decision for yourself. I heard this through the grapevine before I checked this thread about leaving and I was afraid you were leaving the Uru community completely, so I'm relieved to hear you're just shifting to another group. Hope to see you in the cavern again and good luck in your future endeavors! You will be missed around the Great Tree, though. Smile

Perhaps you'd be willing to remain at least an honorary member? We can dream up any title you'd like.

Shorah, Ash!

I'm glad to hear that you'll still be floating around the cavern.

Thanks to you for all your work on the other shards. I look forward to great things with your name attached to them.

Whichever group's banner you choose to wear, I'm sure you'll do them proud.

Cheers!

Wow! Well, Ashtar, it's good you can make a positive decision for yourself. I support it 100% though you'll be greatly missed. Whether you take Brian's offer or not, you'll always be an honorary member in my book. I think with all the politics that seem to surround Uru it's perfectly understandable that you (or anyone) might want a simpler way. Take care. And we will definitely see you in the Cavern.

I wasn't expecting this, Ashtar, I'll be sad to see you leave. Good luck on your travels, man.

I'll add my regrets to everyone elses - it's sad to see you go! Even though I'm one of the newer sheep in the fold, I know you've been a solid part of this group for a long time. Be sure to have fun wherever your new Journey leads you, and I know I'll see you in the Cavern!

Actually Brian, no one person or thing is the cause for my decision, so don't blame yourself Smile Actually I'm kinda looking forward to freelancing it for awhile, see what other journeys I can take. But I'll always consider the Great Tree as my first home in the cavern.

I appreciate the gesture Brian, but I don't need any special title. I'll just consider it an honor that I can come back and visit with everyone as we move forward with the restoration.

And thanks everyone for the wishes. Many of you I have come to know as some of the best that Uru has to offer with your dedication to the explorers, Cyan, and to the restoration of D'ni. With that in mind, the future looks bright indeed.

Wow Shocked I didn't expect that.. I hope you find the right place to settle down. You'll be missed here. It's just good that you're staying within the D'ni community..

Good Luck... And Shorah...
