I have a strange problem with Firefox. Every time I log in to the forum here or other forums, the forums show that there are no new messages even though there are. As I keep the browser open the new posts are seens and forum icons turn orange (here) but I have to go by dates to see what was newly posted while i was logged out.

This is becoming quite a headache to do.

Also I do 'not' have Firefox set to clear private data on close so that is not it. Anyone else run into this and found a fix?

You might need to clear your cookies for the forum. But before you try that...

Verify that you are consistently accessing the forum with the same address.

Even "thegreattree.com" versus "www.thegreattree.com" can make a difference.

I think I had this problem a long time ago but I can't remember what I did to fix it. I can only suggest looking over all the preferences and see if something jumps out at you.

seems I just fixed it. I created a new bookmark, logged out, closed firefox for a while, then came back via the new bookmark and logged in and got proper display of new images.

It seems the cookie was for www.thegreattree.com and the old bookmark was just thegreattree.com

Thanks for the help guys.
