I have sent PMs or e-mails to everyone I know on the translation team as of today (Amarok, Jana, and Erik), notifying them that the scripts for Episodes 2 and 3 are ready for translation. I need to know where to contact our Greek translator.

I have also sent PMs to Ian Atrus and Albert at the UruLive forums, inviting them to participate or to suggest someone else to participate in producing Italian and Spanish versions. I've taken this step because I now feel I am capable of managing the additional translations with the shortcut I've developed in Adobe Premiere Pro. By my estimate, each translation will now take me 1/3 of the time it used to, so I should be able to handle a few more translations without too much trouble. I also asked them if they could provide the Italian and Spanish Yeesha soundbites needed for Episode 0. (The Dutch and Greek versions will have to use the English Yeesha with the subtitle as I provided it to Professor Askew, because there are no Dutch or Greek Yeesha recordings.)

Episodes 0 and 1 in Italian are 99% complete. Leonardo sent me some final corrections today.

Just so everyone knows, I am not planning on releasing the Italian versions until I've gotten all other new languages ready. The reason is: I want all versions to list all of the translators. If I put the Italian version up now, I won't have Spanish or Greek listed (because I don't know who is going to do those translations). And I'm going back and updating the first three languages so they also list all of our translators.

Policy regarding advertisement of the Prologue Videos

Shorah, all. Starting today, we are now using a script to create the media page. Erik wrote it for us. Thanks, Erik!

This script randomizes the links to hosting sites for the videos, each time the page is loaded. The goal is to distribute the traffic load across all hosting sites.

Now that the script is in place, I must ask everyone to not post direct links to any of the videos. Please, only post the link to the media page ( http://www.thegreattree.com/media/ ).

For our international visitors, I will update the page design again next week to make navigation easier.

I would also like to mention that there appears to be a lack of consensus (no consistency or agreement) between everyone on the appropriate primary topic for sharing these videos. Here is my recommendation (though you are not required to follow it):
* Filming announcements -> Until Uru topics
* Release announcements -> Uru Live topics

PS: for Amarok... I have answer for daniel-pierre (who posted here: http://eden-gira.frbb.net/ftopic204.L-histoire-de-The-Great-Tree-et-du-Prologue.htm )

My answer is: "Phil Henderson will not appear in every episode, but he is a very important person in the story."

My direct links are suppressed as you you requested yesterday.

But, I continue to think that – making a script (a general or specific one) and using this script as an html reference in the page for each video is a better idea.
So the traffic randomization is still used (if made into the script) without impacting direct linking to a video.

BUT, this is not my job, just suggested this tip in order to help...

I have decided to divide the pages, but not along episodes. Instead, I think it is better to divide by languages.

When Episode 3 is released, the page will default to English, but with links for each language at the top. Translators can post links directly to the page for their language.

http://www.thegreattree.com/media/index_en.php - is the English page. media/ will automatically default to index_en.

http://www.thegreattree.com/media/index_de.php - will be German

http://www.thegreattree.com/media/index_fr.php - will be French

http://www.thegreattree.com/media/index_nl.php - will be Dutch

http://www.thegreattree.com/media/index_it.php - will be Italian

I would appreciate translations for the remaining elements of these pages (except for the very top - start with "The History of the Great Tree" and continue downward). Let me know of any corrections to elements I've already translated, and look for items in brackets [].

I believe this reorganization will provide a better experience because visitors will arrive at a page almost entirely in their native language. The list of episodes will be short and simple, and uncluttered, and it should be easy for the visitors to find a new episode.

Oh, one more thing - the Italiano and Nederlands links on those pages are live and show off the final version of Episode 0. The other three versions will soon be updated to look the same.

Hi Marten
Here you can find the French page sentences that must be translated or adjusted:

1. Sentences translations:
[documentaries of the Uru Live Prologue]
Prologue d'Uru Live: Documentaires

[If your download is slow, try refreshing the page and restart your download.
Each download is randomized from a list of hosting websites.]

Si votre téléchargement est trop lent, essayez de rafraîchir la page et de le recommencer.
Chaque téléchargement est réparti au hasard parmi une liste de sites hôtes.

2. Sentences translations adjustement/correction:
- venez bientôt -
- prochainement -

3. Episodes TITLES:
[The Power of Returning] Le courage de revenir

[Safety First] Sécurité d'abord !

[Conversations with Victor Laxman] Conversations avec Victor Laxman

[Kidnapped!] Kidnappé !

[Unrest in Ae'gura] Troubles à Aeagura

[The Secret Room] La chambre secrète

[Resistance and Consequence] Résistance et les conséquences

[The Fall of Phil Henderson] La chute de Phil Henderson

Please note:
° In some cases - titles may be a bit different when I know more about the Epsiode content because it is difficult to be accurate just looking a title sentence in English.

Thank you everyone! I have updated the pages. As I upload the revised episodes, you'll see the links appear on those pages. Please do not make any announcements yet - not until Episode 3 is done and ready.

I will be entering as many translations for Episode 3 as I am able, this evening. I will send out the previews tomorrow.

PS: Regarding my new signature...
(1) Players in "Preview" can reveal their KIs
(2) Everyone who is participating in this Prologue Documentary effort has the right to call him or herself a Producer. We are all producing these videos together...

By request of other GT members who saw a complete preview of Episode 3, I need translation of two more phrases:

5 days earlier

and

4 days earlier

(I imagine the translations will be very similar.)

For the credits, I'll also need for the first time, "(as herself)". Smile
