We are only a few tiny steps away from re-releasing Episode Zero with all known technical issues resolved and internationalization for French and German in place.
* Animated the opening logo
* Reduced artifacting in the video - thanks to a recut by Professor Askew
* Cursor no longer visible in Takotah Rooftop scenes (/cheer)
* Reworked subtitles in English version, with dropshadow for readability
* German subtitles and German Yeesha speech, in that version
* French subtitles and French Yeesha speech, in that version
* Cleaned up ending credits
* Tweaked the way the ending credits finish with the music
* Changed controversial line about the formation of the DRC
This is as good as it is going to be for now. To release the international copies, I need verification from our translation team on a few parts where I've used Babelfish as a temporary substitute for their efforts.
I will release the Windows Media version a little later; I need to play with the quality settings some more.

Sorry if my question is already answered elsewhere on the board, but did we release Zero in any of the major Uru communities yet? I've been looking on UO and can't find a posting regarding the episode... _________________

The postings have been stuck under the filming announcements, as that is where I originally promised a release earlier this week (our first public cut). As soon as we have the final international copies, there will be a more dedicated media blitz with stand-alone postings. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

with every version you're outreaching (hope this is the right expression, there are so many, lol) yourself...
excellent quality, even in double size.
this time the voice of yeesha is very clear

ha ha, I believe the expression you want is "outdoing", as in, "You out do yourself every time" or "you have outdone yourself this time". The other word you may be thinking of is "overreaching", which means reaching too far and not doing what you set out to do...
I agree. Marten and Prof, I know you worked yer butts off on this, and if the rest is anything like it, this is gonna be the greatest thing since Dick Cheney shot his hunting buddy...
Cuz you gotta admit, that was pretty nifty.

This episode (Episode Zero) is very much the loving work of Professor Askew. If I have made it better by adding polish, the important thing to remember is that I am polishing a gem.
Amarok has viewed the French version, has provided corrections, and that version will be done tonight after my birthday dinner. /cheer
I have not heard from Ireen in a few days, so I hope that she is OK. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Thank you for the kind words, Marten. You did indeed add quite the polish which continues to prove that I should be paid for ideas if not for execution. LOL
Ireen recently left for a business trip to North Dakotah. Her trip will end in early October. She brought her laptop but she wasn't sure about wireless connection. Might I suggest PMing jana? She is from Berlin Germany, after all. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

The new announcement has gone out! It reads:
Quote: | Between November of 2003 and February of 2004, significant events took place in the underground city of Ae'gura and elsewhere. Many Cavern Explorers were unable to participate in said events for various reasons....
Thanks to recent funding, the D'ni Restoration Council is officially re-opening the Cavern to Explorers. In an effort to recap what has come before, The Great Tree group of Explorers has assembled footage, gathered chat logs, and spoken with witnesses in an effort to document those slightly turbulent but interesting times. We hope that this project will entertain and inform and possibly bring some questions to light.
Episode Zero, "The Beginning" is a prequel of sorts, an abbreviated history of D'ni. We hope you will enjoy it. This episode had already been released to the public but some technical modifications have been made since then and The Great Tree has a new Media Page. Episode One is nearly complete and will debut soon.
I give you The Story of The Great Tree! Enjoy.
And spread the word. It's time for Uru to grow.... |
The announcement covered the forums that Marten had utilized before; MystCommunity, Uru Obsession, UruLive, DRC, D'ni Guild, and Guild of Greeters. Eleri is now free to spread the word. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |
