Oh great, because being 'Great Tree' Jon wasn't bad enough. Why must you pollute my brain so? >.<

Woah, just noticed the new branch and acorn status bar! That's awesome. Does the branch grow as your post count grows, or is it related to your "status" within the group? I noticed admins have orange branches, and some folks have acorns - are those just the mods, or can I aspire to reach the level of "nutness" someday?

me likey!

The way it works right now is somewhat non-intuitive, but we're working on changing it.

Right now:
Non-members (people who aren't officially recognized members of the Great Tree - you can see the official list here) start with an acorn and their branch grows as they post.
Members have a nice sized branch.
"Officers" (all officers are mods, and vice versa) have a green branch with a gold acorn.
"Administrators" (core leadership, also have full admin access to the board) have golden branches with acorns.

We're thinking about making a more distinct branch for members, since once you're a member it doesn't grow (unless you become a mod/officer), but for now, we think it's cool enough that members are their own distinct group.

Edit: Thanks Daed for the great icons! Stay tuned for more changes as we get closer to Live.

I don't see them, I only see the old stars..

Then again, this computer has terrible rendering issues.. drawing weird borders, strange thicknesses, missing background colors and certain text colors.. it's really wonky and I hate it, but can't figure out how to fix it.

I love 'em! Very elegant. I like the concept of the green acorn and its progression, too. Smile Great job, Daed!

I just got home and now I see stars. Is this an IE/Firefox thing?

::checks::

Yes, yes, I believe it is. The branches show up in Explorer but not in Firefox. I use IE at work (yuck, ptew!) and Firefox at home where the branches are nowhere to be seen. Crying or Very sad
